Thick, long and well-defined: every woman wants perfect lashes, but sometimes obtaining them seems an almost impossible challenge.
In fact, with a few simple gestures repeated daily, we can all achieve this goal. Let's say goodbye to the extensions, highlight our eyes and show off a Hollywood diva look has never been so easy! Are you ready to show off eyelashes worthy of a movie star like Angelina Jolie?
Here are the 5 secrets to having them!
1. Treat them well!
Who doesn't get to rub their eyes in the morning when they wake up or during the day when they're tired, thinking they can benefit from it? Well, we couldn't do worse damage to our eyelashes! Not only those of a delicate nature, but also the strongest ones are weakened if touched frequently or with little care: by rubbing the eyes, we go to irritate the follicles, causing the bending and the possible fall of the lashes.
Moreover, it is a good habit to wash the face around the eye area daily using a neutral soap that does not bother that sensitive part. This eliminates dirt and grease residues and promotes the growth of strong, shiny lashes.
Finally, before going to bed, remember to remove makeup carefully with delicate products and to do so, even in this case, without rubbing too much: for an optimal result, just put a minimum dose of makeup remover on a cotton disc and apply the latter on the eyelid, leaving the product to act for a few moments.
2. Natural remedies are your best allies
There is no need to use particularly expensive lotions to have curved lashes, very often the most effective remedies we already have them in our cupboard or in the cabinets where we keep the products for the care of other parts of our body!
One of the best allies in this respect is castor oil. It is a very dense vegetable ointment, normally recommended for the care of dry and brittle hair. Thanks to its properties, castor oil has a nourishing, strengthening and polishing action that makes the lashes thicker and more resistant. To apply it, simply use an old mascara brush or even just your fingertips, concentrating it on the root of your lashes.
Two other DIY remedies are coconut oil and olive oil. The first is rich in antioxidants and helps to protect the lashes from external agents, such as wind and smog, which can damage them constantly, while the second has a large intake of vitamin E and is the best choice for greater hydration in the case of dry lashes. Remember to apply both from the root.
Finally, we can not forget the green tea, with a thousand benefits for our body, which is confirmed to be an ally for the goal of an irresistible look: thanks to the high content of flavonoids, is perfect for stimulating the growth of lashes. The best way to apply it is to prepare a cup in the evening, wait for it to cool down, dip a cleansing disc in it and leave it on your eyelid for 15 minutes.
3. Watch your diet!
As is often said, everything we eat has an effect on our bodies, in some cases positive and in others less so. So even a healthy diet is an ally for us to have perfect lashes: foods rich in vitamins A, B, C and E, such as beans, lentils, avocado, broccoli, nuts and the olive oil itself, are optimal.
4. The eyelash fold
An often underestimated tool is the eyelash bending machine, which you can find in all beauty shops. Whether you want to apply make-up to your lashes or leave them natural, your lashes will benefit immediately from its use: use it carefully, gently squeezing the lashes of each eye for at least 15 seconds and then release them carefully, to avoid tearing the hair or irritating the follicles of the eyelid. The result? Curved lashes ready to highlight your look!
5. Mascara
It may seem like an easy choice to make, but finding the right mascara that can be a real ally in eyelash care is sometimes anything but simple. Try to choose products that contain a high amount of moisturizing ingredients such as panthenol: when you make up, you'll not only make your eyes stand out, you'll also take care of your lashes with every pass of your favourite mascara. When applying it, always start from the root by moving towards the tips, repeating the operation a couple of times to make sure you have colored even the shortest lashes. If you want to have a more voluminous effect, after the first pass of the product, dust with a comb a small amount of talcum powder on the lashes and then apply the mascara again: this is a trick used even by the most famous make-up artists!
