Diet is the material basis of our lives, and the wisdom of our diet affects our way of life. We must not only avoid patients, but also actively seek health and happiness, make life lively, lasting and useful, and can match the environment.
If you are a Buddhist, you must be disciplined, compassionate, and compassionate, to achieve harmony in the whole world. On April 29 and May 13, 1984, the author was very touched by hearing nutrition experts and biochemists and vegetarian and non-vegetarians discussing and reporting at the Dajue Temple. The following is the author's understanding of this issue, to seek criticism and advice from fellow initiates.
My body is a delicate large chemical factory, but it's fine, complicated and wonderful has been used for my life. The procedure is to choose the right food in my mouth, enter the digestive system through the oral cavity and esophagus, dissolve the food into the heat, and evolve into various biological chemicals for development, nutrition, maintenance of various organs, and the heart. Pumping, blood circulation, lung breathing, metabolism of the entire system, and life.
The laborers must use the brain. There are about 14 billion cells in the human brain. About one-quarter of the cells in adults work, playing a positive and negative role. The so-called thinking requires heat and adequate nutrition. This kind of nutrition, including the combination of glutamic acid, vitamin B6, B12, and protein, can make people produce superb wisdom.
Laborers must use force and muscle to decompose a large amount of starch into lactic acid when the muscles contract. One part of this lactic acid is synthesized by the muscles, and part of it is oxidized to generate heat energy, and the rest is immersed in the blood, and the liver is stored as animal starch and stored in the liver. (B), nutrition table - heat and protein Slightly (for details, please refer to the Prajna Wenhai website) The average daily calorie requirement for adults is about 24,400 calories, and the labor can be 3,000 calories or more. The card is one kilogram of water and the calories required for one degree Celsius. Each kilogram (Gram) sugar can produce four or two cards. Each gram of protein can produce about the same amount of calories, and each gram of fat can produce nine or two calories. The nutrition listed above is obtained by three meals a day.
Protein is the main component of all living things. The main component of protein is amino acid (Amino Acid). The whole protein is composed of more than twenty amino acids, nine of which are basic units, which must be combined to form a protein. There are three kinds of nine, which are Limiting Amino Acids. If any of these three kinds are absent, the other amino acids will not be able to form a whole protein. These three are (1) Lysine (2) Methionine and (3) Tryptophan. Since the meat contains more of these three kinds of acid, the nutritionist introduces meat.
(1) Proteins can complement each other in vegetarian diets. According to field research by Ms. Moore in the United States, we advocate mutual blending in our full-day diet, and we can also obtain perfect whole protein like meat in a vegetarian diet (see Frances Moore Lappe, Diet for A Small planet NY Ballantine 75). The reason is based on the fact that cereals in vegetarian diets are lower than lysine but rich in methionine, while beans are the opposite. Therefore, in the proper blending of vegetarian diets, they can complement each other with sufficient protein.
(2) Since the end of 1969, the US federal government has begun to pay attention to public health meetings in the White House. According to the statistics of the American medical community, the biggest cause of death, due to heart disease and high blood pressure, is derived from the good meat of Americans. Because of the accumulation of animal fat in the body, it produces cholesterol (Cholesterol), also known as cholesterol. Stored in the liver of the carnivores, the substance that transports fat to the circulatory system, the fat protein that enters the blood dissolves into the water, but the cholesterol is insoluble in water, sinks in the artery wall gradually blocks the blood passage, and promotes coronary arteriosclerosis. Finally, the heart is suffocated and not treated.
(3) Advances in medical hygiene, changes in diet
Conversely, vegetable oils prevent the increase of cholesterol in the blood because of unsaturated fat.
Conclusion: Young children and their period of development can reasonably eat meat. But with the advancement of science, the diet for adults can be improved. At the current stage of observation, vegetarianism is the way to rationalize our lives. The more human beings evolve, the more vegetarians will increase, becoming an inevitable trend, contributing to the overall harmony of mankind.
