Most of the most famous meetings with aliens from space have taken place in North America. One such contact took place on the night of August 21-22, 1955 in the village of Kelly near Hopkinsville, Kentucky. Sutton's family of farmers and visiting friends were attacked by mysterious creatures. This incident entered into ufological chronicles as "a terrible night of green men in Kelly - Hopkinsville.
invasion. The Suttons had guests that night, their closest neighbors and friends, Billy Ray and June Taylor. There were a total of eight adults and three children in the house. The adults were having dinner, socializing, and the children were playing in the nursery when the dog barked loudly and furiously outside. The frightened dog scratched the door as if someone was chasing him. Billy Ray was very surprised by the behavior of the dog, which was calm and good-natured, so the man decided to find out the reason for the strange reaction. He went outside, looking at the clock with a machine gun. The hands were showing seven o'clock in the evening, and a few minutes later he got excited and said he was watching a luminous object in the sky that was flooding the plain with light. Soon the object landed about 100 meters away from it in the channel of a dried-up river. However, those present thought it was a prank and just laughed at a good joke.
But Ray stubbornly suggested that the owner go with him to see what it was like. By then, the dog had stopped barking, and it was decided to continue the dinner, and only then to take a walk. Half an hour later, people heard someone walking under the windows and, strangely, the dog was silent, not reacting to the presence of a stranger in the yard. The men stood up from behind the table, taking their guns with them. When they walked out on the street, they saw the pale pink glow Ray was talking about on the other side of the field. Suddenly, there were steps behind them. The men turned their heads and became horrified. A strange creature stood behind their backs. His height was less than a meter, the hairless body shone weakly, a large bald head decorated with long pointed ears. On the alien's face, there were huge eyes with yellow squirrels and dark green pupils. The hands of the humanoid were long, thin, with some semblance of webs between the fingers. The legs, also thin, ended in something like suckers. The creature raised his hands up as if he were going to surrender.
When it moved towards the house, the men panicked and stopped at the door and opened fire on an unknown creature. However, the bullets that hit him did not cause any damage, but only threw the alien back. The uninvited guest, having risen, rushed to the top of his head. No sooner had friends come into the house and slammed the door behind them than a loud cry of children was heard. Rushing into the nursery, the men saw the same monster, with curiosity looking out the window. They threw up their guns again and fired a shot, but, as in the last time, the creature did not seem to have died, as the body was not found afterward.
No one had any idea what was going on outside the house, so it was decided to go out and see. Billy Ray was the first to step on the porch. Lucky Sutton followed him but did not have time to leave the doorway. A clawed, glowing hand hung from the roof and Billy clung to his hair. Lucky grabbed a friend by his clothes, rushed sharply at himself and dragged him into the house. People in fear lurked in one of the rooms. In the silence that came, one could clearly hear someone's footsteps on the roof, with the claws scratching the tiles with a nasty sound. The owner of the house was a brave and determined man, so he decided to reconsider. What he saw shocked even him: several nasty creatures sat on the roof of the house, and Sutton started shooting at green creatures, but the bullets still did not hurt them. He had no choice but to return to the house and lock the door behind him. The aliens, on the other hand, were completely free to walk on the roof and look out the windows.
After a three-hour nightmare, the frightened people decided to flee. At 23:00 they jumped out into the street and rushed to their cars. Their way was to Hopkinsville police station. Of course, the police did not believe the story of any aliens. They listened only because there were many, and they were very scared, and they said the same thing about the incident. In the end, the police commissioner and four policemen went to the farm. When they arrived, they took a thorough look at the house and its surroundings. All they managed to find was a grieving dog whining and a lot of shell casings on the ground. But no alien monsters or glowing objects were found. It was possible to judge what had happened only by the frightened faces of the people and the dog, which also experienced some kind of shock. Eventually, the police left the Sutton house and promised to return in the morning. The exhausted people finally decided to rest.
