Favorite compact powder crashed? It can be saved!
The compact powder can be used for about two years, but it usually ends when it falls down the first time: it seems impossible to use it anymore. But you can actually save the product, so take your time throwing away the rest.
HOW TO COLLECT THE REMAINS OF BROKEN POWDER?
Powdered face products can crack and crumble in the event of a minor impact or fall just a couple of months after purchase. This is fatal if the remains of powder are scattered on the bottom of the bag or cosmetics bag. In this case, there is no point in restoring the product. In other cases, the matter can be rectified.
If the powder is scattered on a flat, clean surface, take two sheets of paper and use them to collect the remaining residue and sprinkle it into a powder case.
IS IT POSSIBLE TO RESTORE THE COMPACT FORMAT OF THE POWDER?
You can and should because its properties will remain the same after restoration. Below are two ways to "resuscitate" your favorite compact powder.
With alcohol
This is the fastest and easiest way to recover powder. Follow the instructions.
1. Once you've put the old powder back in the case, cover it with foodstuff film so that the crumbs don't fly in all directions.
2. Grind the contents into a fine powder with any stick or back of a spoon.
3. If you want the powder to regain its compressed form after it has been restored, use medical alcohol or its 40% substitute - it is available at each pharmacy. Remove the food film and gently stir in the powder until the consistency starts to resemble thick sour cream.
4. To remove excess liquid, soak the powder with a paper towel.
5. Compress the powder well - this will determine the format of the powder. If you do not compress enough powder, applying it with a brush or sponge will remain problematic: too much money will be collected for the pile. Put a press on the powder that matches the shape of the powder. Remove any excess powder with a napkin and leave it under pressure for 24 hours until the alcohol evaporates completely.
Without alcohol, with an iron
Do you have sensitive skin that peels off a lot? Then it is better to use this one as a powder recovery option with alcohol.
1. Collect the residual powder in the food film and grind it into a fine powder.
2. Remove the metal container from the powder and sprinkle the powder there.
3. Overlay any metal plate that either has the same or slightly smaller diameter as the powder.
4. Heat the iron to the maximum temperature. Apply to a metal surface for 20 seconds.
5. Wait until the powder has cooled down and reattached the container in the case.
HOW DO YOU MAKE THE REST OF THE COMPACT POWDER CRUMBLY?
Lazy to return the powder to the compressed form? Make it crumbly! This method can be used not only when the powder is broken or cracked, but also when it runs out and it becomes uncomfortable to type it.
1. Use a knife, needle or hairpin to remove any residual powder from the case.
2. You will need a blender with a mini shredder to achieve perfect grinding. Sprinkle the powder into it and press the button several times to create a fine and airy powder.
Don't keep the button pressed for long, otherwise, you'll get a lumpy one instead of an airy texture.
HOW ELSE CAN YOU USE POWDER?
If you don't want to use the powder for its intended purpose anymore, and you feel sorry for throwing it away, here are the Lifhachs for non-standard use of the product.
Mascara base. Do you want lashes to belong, voluminous and fluffy? Carefully powder them - and only then apply mascara.
Dry shampoo. If you need to refresh your roots immediately and do not have dry shampoo at hand, put powder on the brush and spread it over your hair closer to the root zone. As with the dry shampoo, the powder contains talcum powder that absorbs sebum.
The base for cream shadows. In eye make-up, instead of a primer for shadows can be used powder. It absorbs skin fat without letting the cream shadows fade into the folds of the eyelids.
