Antiquity is rightly famous for its inventive masters who managed to create containers for careful storage of liquids. While before the invention of plastic and glass remained for centuries, people easily found a way out of this situation to carefully store liquids. Vessels were made of:
- Clay;
- Stone;
- Horns;
- Ivory;
- Bones of a hippopotamus.
They were made by ancient Egyptians and Canaanites (ancient Semitic tribes). To close and seal the containers along the upper edge of the product, they narrowed it down, covered it with leather or cloth, and tightly tightened the strap. In the Ancient East, vessels for aromatic liquids were made with such a narrow neck that even when they were turned over, they poured out a drop.
For centuries, bottles have been a universal container for perfume. Perfumers poured fragrant products into simple containers, and customers were already pouring the contents into their own glass, crystal, ceramic or porcelain bottles with a screw cap or cork.
It was only at the beginning of the 20th century that the fragrance, name, and bottle, united by one idea, became inseparable. All the bottles, regardless of the material they were made of, had a lid with a solid surface that protected the fragrant liquid from evaporation. The most famous types of bottles for perfume compositions today are splash, spray, roll-on: let's tell more about them.
Bottles of "splash"
Splash (splash) in French means "splash", which fully explains the name of this type of bottle. These are containers with a lapped glass plug, stopper or screw cap that give the user direct access to the perfume liquid.
All vintage perfume is sold in this type of dish. If the bottle is tilted over, the perfume can come out of it (except for the screw cap bottles). Flasks of splash are used mainly for concentrated compositions: perfumes, perfumed water, as well as for large volumes of selections (from 250 ml), as in Creed.
Bottles of "splash In the name of aroma integrity.
In a modern version, a plastic harmonic gasket can be found under the glass cork. In order to prevent the evaporation of valuable moisture, the glass stoppers are covered with a plastic shell and the screw caps are covered with thin bull skin from the inside. Sometimes there are gossips with a glass stopper stick inside the bottle: it is very convenient to apply perfume.
Staying in the past This format is no longer popular now because the modern rhythm of life does not leave time for a long ritual of vestments in the fragrance. In addition, it is believed that the perfume in the bottles of glimpses are poorly stored, as they are oxidized by contact with the air, and the particles of dust and skin get inside after the application of the flavor of namaz.
Bottles "spray"
The perfumery's genius invention is the sprayer, which appeared in 1870. First, the spraying device was an elastic tube with a "pear" pump at the end, which was attached to the cap of the bottle. Gradually, the awfully uncomfortable design was improved and finally turned into a very compact mechanism.
Bottles of "spray" Absolute favorites For the sake of justice, it is necessary to note that modern bottles with atomizer-pump rather have a decorative function and are extremely impractical in the preservation of perfume. Today, the most common, convenient and popular are spray bottles, which are similar in structure and principle of operation to sprayers.
How does this work?
Bottles spray soldered or collapsible type filled with gas under pressure, so that after pressing the key and there is spraying of the flavor. They are ideal for low concentration perfume compositions. Their main advantage is the possibility of long-term storage of perfume. Just don't forget to make an air plug in the sprayer tube, turning over the bottle and making a few "sticks".
Bottles of roll-on
The third, least popular, type of bottles is roll-on. Often used for oily perfume. In the neck of the bottle is built in a special plastic or metal ball, which rotates on the principle of roller deodorant. Due to the fact that the ball alternately comes into contact with the perfume and skin, perfume in these bottles is not stored for a long time, although they are consumed sparingly.
Perfumery design know-how
Bottle design and perfume application technologies are not in place and are constantly evolving. Here are just a few examples of innovative approaches to bubble making:
For bottles with chic old-fashioned pumps, which were quite leaking, the French company Aptar has developed a mechanism Eternelle, which solves the problem of perfume evaporation by closing the spray by turning the spray by 90 degrees.
Vial with a screw cap
It would seem that it is impossible to invent anything new in the design of perfume bottles, but the developers do not cease to surprise us ... And what format is the most comfortable for you? Is it so important to have a handy sprayer, or do graceful lids attract you more?
