Mantras are often mentioned in connection with topics such as meditation, Buddhism, zest for life and the like.

A mantra can help you to re-evaluate a situation differently and thus not to think in a deadlock.

Today we would like to introduce you to the subject of mantras and provide some examples of application.

What is a mantra?

Originally, the term "mantra" refers to a syllable, word or verse (often referred to as sacred) that is singularly or repeatedly echoed to make its meaning real.

In different life and beliefs (Hinduism, Buddhism and many more) there are different interpretations and expressions. A very typical and well-known mantra is the 'Om' (mostly long-drawn: "Ooooohhhhhmmmm"). In most cases, one associates a cross-legged monk or saint, with whom one can identify oneself only to a limited extent.

Meanwhile, the term is often used in everyday language simply for constructive, motivational sayings and wisdom. In this context, a mantra should above all serve to change your attitude towards your life or a certain situation and to make you feel positive. With the danger of watering down the original meaning of the term in this article, we would like to focus on this transformed interpretation today.

How can a mantra help you?

Do you know the idea of 'self-fulfilling prophecy'?

This theory implies that an expected outcome (e.g., another person's behavior or performance) is more likely to occur than an unexpected outcome.

This is because we tend to subconsciously produce such an outcome through our behavior.

Based on the self-fulfilling prophecy, a mantra can lead to a positive result through a positive setting that you create for yourself.

This can just be a good feeling.

Maybe you have experienced it before, that you wanted to feign an illness to your parents, teachers or the employer (for example headache), but after that you really did not feel well, even though you were completely healthy before?

"What we want to see, we can see that too" - If you assume that the weather is going to be bad anyway, then you will see your expectation already in light wind and a few drops. If you go out even of good weather, you will dismiss light wind and a few drops as a small outlier.

Mantras have a lot to do with basic, positive thinking in today's everyday perception.

For example, as a morning mantra, you can tell yourself several times that you feel rested, healthy, and happy. Without further action, you will feel better overall than if you only start the day with negative thoughts.

The nice thing is that you can create your own mantra. Which feeling, which result or whatever you wish for yourself. Tell yourself it's going to happen, and you're more likely to experience it that way.

This happens because a mantra directs your focus to what it contains. When you say that you are feeling good, you will look for and find good feelings in you.

Mantras make you happy!

Use mantras to become happier!

Examples of mantras

motivation

"I can do it"

"I will solve the task I was asked"

"I'm good at what I do"

enjoyment of life

"I feel good and enjoy my life"

"I'm happy with myself because I actively work on my luck"

"There are many things in my life that make me happy, if I let it happen"

Relaxation

"I am very calm and balanced"

"I do not go along with the speed of the world around me, but stay at my own speed"

"My breath is calm and my body feels very relaxed"

Important: it does not matter that the statement is true from the beginning. The point is that through a mantra you change the reality in the direction of the content of the mantra.

Conclusion: Try the work with a mantra!

We know that just in the beginning, working with mantras is not easy for everyone. You may think youird to recite a mantra, or you feel like you are lying to yourself, because in truth you are not happy, relaxed, motivated, and so on.

Therefore, it is important that you stay on the ball and give mantras a chance. Just pull it off for 14 days: Every morning and every evening (if you can manage it a few times during the day), you are suggesting one of our proposed or self-developed mantra - you will see that it influences your reality and makes you feel better.

And now: have fun trying it out and we look forward to your comment, whether it has helped you or what experience you already have!
