A successful and productive life

You already know how to succeed. You know how to make money, what actions will lead to health, beauty and prosperity. You know what you need to realize yourself and to satisfy your life.

Often people see it like this:

Determine goals, plan and perform tasks, do sports, eat properly, learn a foreign language, sharpen skills, take care of appearance, sleep and so on.

But if active life is so beautiful, where are the actions? Where did all this unhealthy food for TV shows and aimless viewing of social networks until late at night? Why is the English course dusting on the shelf, and the body swims fat?

And here's the thing...

The idea of self-discipline paints a picture of joyless life in limitation and unfreedom. There is an image of a robot, monotonically performing routine on schedule. No entertainment, no diversity. Only correct actions, only boredom and greyness.

The intended purpose gives rise to doubts: I will not be able to, will not come out, I will appear incapable, I will not justify expectations, I will be disappointed in myself or I will regret about the time spent that appeared to be not necessary to anybody.

Or the desire for sports, which disappears at the first thought of running in wet weather in the early morning, when you want to sleep terribly, but instead of vivacity only regret that you are not in warm bed now.

You don't want to stick to a diet, because the fight against the desire to eat unhealthy food usually ends in defeat. And learning English is such a long time! Progress is slow, words are forgotten, boring grammar does not bring any joy.

Did I guess? If so, let's change something before life passes by. Otherwise, you will be old age, unrealized and alone with a lot of disease and lack of money. Yeah, well, I'm kidding :)

How will we treat it?

Laziness turns off quickly. Two or three minutes if you have experience or ten minutes if you have no experience at all. Not much compared to days, weeks and even months of delay.

In order to transform laziness into a desire to act, we will change our forecasts for the future, influencing the emotions of the present. Having mastered the method in practice, you will be ready to start the tasks that seemed boring and unpleasant.

But will you succeed? Absolutely! I tried my method on different people, and it showed a good result in all without exception. Hence my confidence in your success.

The first results may not be as bright as you expect. Or they can be so strong that the effect will amaze you. In any case, you will get better and better each time.

The only thing you can do wrong is to jump to conclusions and not even try. Or quit after the first attempt and never go back to the exercise again. I hope this is not about you.

Theory: what is the reason for laziness?

As you have understood, resistance to action is the result of expectations that something unpleasant will happen if the action starts. It is an expectation of emotional discomfort that will allegedly arise during or after the action.

For example, someone doesn't want to go to the gym because they think it's a dull road in the cold, gray landscapes in a minibus, jolting in the subway, long traffic jams or boredom on the way.

Conversely, the desire to start sooner is a consequence of positive expectations that the action or its results will bring pleasure and a lot of pleasant emotions.

Such an inspired writer wants to return to the text faster, anticipating joy and delight from the state of the stream. Or the reader of this article, who can't wait to try a new method of fighting laziness ;)

But where do negative forecasts come from?

The brain protects us from repetition of unpleasant experience. If he sees the similarity between the current situation and the one that once caused the negative, he triggers an alarm: "Don't do it! For example, once a person has been embarrassed on stage, he or she has become afraid to perform.

This survival mechanism blocks actions that lead to possible unpleasant consequences and negative emotions. But its main drawback - a very high error of predictions!

Remember how to avoid the task, considering it unpleasant, but when you get down to business, you quickly got involved and did not even notice how the time passed. At the end, you felt satisfied, relieved and surprised: "Why did I take so long?

Everyone knows this. You may still be in such an illusion, so you are postponing something important.

But sometimes the prognosis was right! You have really experienced unpleasant emotions related to the action. Does this mean that the prognosis is worth believing? No, because the negative can be removed in the same way during the action. I'll tell you how to do this further, so read carefully.
