Damping tape

A quality floor screed must be at least 5-6 cm thick. A special damping tape is used to insulate the floor from the walls.

Cross-linked polyethylene pipe

Engineering communications are

a weakness in secondary housing. They should be changed. For example, aluminium two-wire wires are no longer in use and it is not possible to relocate sockets and switches without changing the wiring. Most likely, plumbing will also leave much to be desired. We are not talking about a sink with a faucet, but about pipes. Do not save money on changing communications. Today you will install beautiful Italian sanitary ware, and tomorrow the old pipe will leak, and you will have to disassemble and remodel everything. It is better to supply polyethylene pipes from well-known manufacturers. For example, REHAU company gives a guarantee for its products in 50 years!

Reception, as you can hear?

To avoid possible future modifications and to control the situation in general, come to check the quality of the work performed at each stage.

What should you pay attention to?

With the rough finish:

The evenness of the walls is checked with a tool called "rule". Place it against the wall and see if it is in contact with the surface along its entire length. The working team should have a rule;

Plaster beacons should not remain in the walls;

Electrical wiring is checked by charging the cell phone from all outlets one at a time. Check the operation of all machines in the electrical box. Electrical appliances with high power (hob, washing machine) should be equipped with separate automatic machines. This should be discussed at the planning stage;

In the bathroom, check the integrity of the pipes and the slope in the shower room if you have a shower cubicle. Otherwise, the water will not go into the drain;

Tap the floor with a hammer. If there is air in the screed somewhere, you will immediately hear voids. Where the coupler joins the wall, there should be a damping tape. Correct waterproofing of the floor in "wet areas" should be two-layer and go on the walls by 30 cm.

This is where you can watch the draft acceptance video.

When finishing:

The evenness of the tiles is also checked by a rule. Examine the accuracy of the seams, ask what sawed the tiles (it is better to find out before the start of the work, professional workers saw tiles with tile cutters, not jigsaws);

The laminate should not rest against the wall. As the material is a bit mobile, there should be a small gap between the laminate and the wall, which in the future should be covered with a skirting board. Between the joints of the different floor coverings there should be a threshold. Modern design thresholds in height can be only 2 mm, so do not think that between the tiles and laminate you will have a whole curb in the room, which you will definitely stumble upon.

All these details and nuances are discussed in advance with the designers and repair team.

Remember that the quality of repair depends directly on the materials and tools.

Repairmen usually recommend proven manufacturers with whom they are used to work and in whose quality they have seen from their own experience. Large tools, such as tile cutters, should have their own, and disposable consumables, such as a paint roller coat, are included in the cost of repair or purchased at the customer's expense. In each case, the purchase of tools is negotiated separately.

As a result, the cost of the design project pays off more than enough: a competent repair plan eliminates further changes in the process. You will not need to delve into technical details and spend time on the layout of electrical and plumbing equipment. Plus, the designer's apartment is liquid on the real estate market and it will simply be more pleasant to live in. As they say, one head is good, and two heads are better.
