The emphasis in the interior is something important in terms of meaning, but not necessarily big/expensive/bright. It is the center of the entire composition, the heart of the interior.
Novice level accents
It's always textiles to start with accents. It is easy to put into the interior and also easy to clean.
This living room has a light, neutral base, with carpet, pillows and curtains as accents. Together they form a single composition, but separately they risk getting lost. Pillows support a carpet, curtains help to maintain the general theme of an ornament. Small plates on the walls and cushions are a cherry on the cake, but they alone would not be enough.
It's important to remember that you have children, cats, clothes and household items moving into your apartment. If the designer will make a bet only on pillows and plaid, then someone will take the plaid away, pillows will throw shirts and the accent will simply disappear. That's why composition and integrity is so important - so that all this is not erased.
Look at another angle of the same room. The basic colour scale absolutely quiet and neutral. Therefore, a large visible carpet and curtains complement it and create a semantic center around the recreation area, and do not overload the space.
Another important plus of the textile accent is its easy to remove. The walls can also be painted or re-glued, but it is much more difficult. So if you like to change something often, use trifles: posters, vases, paintings.
The interior of this room was selected around the carpet. It is beautiful, designer and very bright. Therefore, neutral curtains in tone and floor vase were selected for it, and an armchair with golden legs was placed. A small accent in the form of a blue pillow added to the composition.
If you want to change, a pillow with a carpet and even an armchair can be taken out and brought in their place something else.
With this bright orange sofa it will be more difficult to change the interior. Still, we buy large furniture for a long time.
In this project, the composition is monochrome, gray-beige, and the emphasis is on patterned textiles. This is a win-win situation. The interior becomes more complicated, it becomes multi-layered and interesting. The view passes from the wall to the picture, from the picture to the pillows, supplemented by a carpet. Everything is close in color, but different.
Without such accent decor there is no sense of complete space. Sometimes it is disparagingly called a dust collector, but it is it that sets the variety and style.
And here is an example of a classical interior in light tones. And the curtains became a cool accent: bright, attractive, with ornament. They change the feeling of space and easily change, while the main composition will serve for years and will not get bored.
In this example, there is also a clear emphasis on textiles: carpet and sofa upholstery. The general colour scheme is very neutral and therefore the look immediately falls on this bright group. This is both a way of zoning and a successful example of accent placement.
In this drawing room the design decision already on a border between accent and simply very bright colour scheme. But still, if you look closely, you can see that the basis - a neutral white color, and the emphasis gives the color of fuchsia in textiles and accessories.
This living room and the entire apartment are filled with paintings by one artist. Canvases do not even have to be hung, you can put on the floor or on the nightstand, on TV, lay them on top of each other.
Paintings hang in every room and create a single spirit at home with minimal energy consumption. The most difficult thing was to collect this collection.
And here this drawing room, first, an example that it is not necessary to plan moldings specially under a picture, it is possible to hang it directly on top of them. And secondly, the accent is not necessarily a thing, it can also be lighting. Here the light accentuates your attention over the dining table no worse than the accent wall or bright furniture would do.
The picture can be very large and will become the semantic center of the room. Everything will be built around it: colors, texture, furniture selection.
Emphasis can be inexpensive, sometimes the author's is just a non-standard.
Emphasis can be on contrasting details, their graphics. In this living room there is a quiet general scale and clear graphic lines on it: legs of a chair, lines of racks, a lamp.
In this case, the bed is due to its contrast and fine graphics becomes the center of the room. There is no need to emphasize the wall, hang pictures, put pillows - the interior is already self-sufficient.
This interior is good because it seems as if it has been collected for years. Black contrasting chairs, black-and-white photos, dark wooden shelf were put on a light basis. Carefully and patiently created the mood of the room. Such an interior is easy to implement in terms of financial and physical costs, but at the same time it is the highest design aerobatics, the ability to create a story from simple objects.
