How to deal with Monday and start the week in a positive way

Monday is your black beast? We'll amaze you: you can be happy even on this inauspicious day and we're ready to explain you how

How to deal with Monday

Monday is probably the most hated day of the week, considered by all workers (but also by those who still go to school) a real disaster. End of fun, end of free time, just to be late in the evening and away with the hard work, the boss who bothers you, the email you left on standby to respond to.

Put it this way, let's face it, it sounds really bad: a black whirlpool from which you can only get out by closing your eyes, clenching your teeth and waiting for it to pass. But can't you really do anything to change the history of your Monday? No, it's not true: you can do a lot and change the face of a day that you may never be your favorite, but that you will learn to keep at bay!

Step 1: Keep Sunday night anxiety at bay

You want to get out unscathed since Monday? The first step is to avoid getting anxious on Sunday evenings. The secret? Do something to pamper yourself and try to put aside the thought of what awaits you the next day.

If the anxiety from Monday is too strong, give yourself a time: establish that you can think about Monday and all the horrible things it brings with it for 15 minutes, maximum half an hour, on Sundays, and then you have to move on. This way you'll give something to the anxiety, without letting it dominate you.

What about pampering? Pizza is great (if you like it!), but it's also good binge watching of a series (possibly cheerful) or watching a reassuring film, such as a funny or comic movie or a comedy for girls or even a romantic movie, if you're in the mood.

If you choose streaming, find out what to see on Netflix and what to see on Amazon Prime Video, the two most popular platforms.

Step 2: Overcomes the Monday morning of momentum

And let's get to the really difficult part: don't crash into Monday morning like we were Will the Coyote against a rock.

Put the alarm clock on 10 minutes earlier than usual so you don't feel overwhelmed.

  • Open the window and enjoy a few moments of natural light (even when it's low) before turning on the abat-jour
  • Take 3 deep breaths to cleanse your mind and relax your body
  • Enjoy a breakfast with flakes, different from the bite and run breakfast that you can treat yourself to at other times
  • Make a part of the journey on foot so as not to be overwhelmed by the chaos of public transport
  • Make an appointment with your favorite colleague to have a coffee before sitting at your desk. (And that's also a great excuse to finally become friends with your colleagues.)
  • Share phrases on Monday with your friends and enjoy reading their answers and encouragement for the day
  • Get to work and think about doing one thing at a time: you can't solve all problems simultaneously

Step 3: those who begin well are in the middle of the work

The morning has gone, now remains the other half of the apple: the afternoon. Instead of thinking with terror that you still have 4 or 5 hours to grind, you are happy that you have passed the first part of the day in a brilliant way and, if you have suffered a bit, you smile at the fact that you have put behind you the morning of Monday. From lunch onwards, it can only get better!

Step 4: It's over, also this Monday is past!

Bye-bye work! The day at the office is over, so the decompression phase begins, which, perhaps this will surprise you, is just as important. Take a trip to the gym, swimming pool or at least go running to relieve the tension that inevitably on Monday has brought you.

Treat yourself to a nice relaxing shower, if you have time, otherwise go home, dinner with something good and healthy and then dedicated to well-deserved relaxation. Turn off your mobile phone and dedicate it to yourself and/or your family, but slowly try to relax so as to allow yourself a nice restful sleep.

Done: Game Over for Monday! Make a nice tongue on Monday, this time you won!
