My favourite job!

A hobby or a job?

Why would a man need to work? Of course, first of all, in order to get the money that is necessary to meet our needs, to implement one hundred and fifty plans and "wants", for self-realization, to be a professional and grow as a professional, to get emotions from the work, from communication with colleagues. I think we can continue this general list of individual needs of each individual, based on life values and priorities. There is an opinion that for the best result the work should coincide with a hobby. Then a person will enjoy the work itself, and the reward from this work, which theoretically should increase due to the fact that the person works with love, so the output should be a better product, bringing profit to the creator. Nowadays a modern person is given a huge choice of hobbies, thematic shops are widely spread. No one will be surprised by the terms: scapbooking, quilling, decoupage. In shops it is possible to buy everything for felting, ceramic floristics, soap-making, patchwork, beading, manufacturing of leather and stone products. I'm not talking about embroidery, knitting, drawing, modeling, etc. There is a huge number of master classes that allow you to master the skills of each of the hobbies.

But can creativity be a really good job? Of course, this depends on a person's work requirements. For some people it is important to have intellectual tension, for others it is the work by hand, for some people it is preferable to interact with people, etc. It is enough to remember the classification of E.A. Klimov's professions: man is a living nature, man is a technician, man is a man, man is a sign system, man is an artistic image. But often you meet people who are ready to spend hours for embroidery and mastering the program of 1 C, for cycling and intellectual conclusions in scientific work, for drawing and active performances at meetings, etc.

A client of mine said "Why did I become what I am? Because I could have been anyone, I just came across this profession. So can a hobby be a full-fledged profession or does creativity remain a means of switching from a hard day's work to a more relaxed pastime? There are examples from life for both the first and the second case. But usually it turns out the following: what is offered today in hobby shops for women does not bring much income. In order for a certain creative activity to become a profession, it is necessary to step out of the position of a master and become a trainer, salesman, marketer, manager who promotes goods for creativity, i.e. to return to the professions that many people run away from.

Everyone has a responsibility to choose their profession, their work. Many people are still dissatisfied with their work and are looking for themselves in art, which often turns out to be unsteady, annoying and delayed. Many people don't know at all whether they are engaged in life at all? But I think the following is significant: It doesn't matter what you do. It is important to love your work. Since you are at your desk at this hour, you will love what you have to do. To do this, you can divide the workload into composite processes and set smaller but personal tasks. For example, it is not easy to prepare documentation for such a number, but to make a "candy" out of this documentation, not to check the standard contract, and scrupulously analyze all the controversial issues, then the quality of the work itself will be better, and the satisfaction from this activity will be greater. Some people, knowing that they enjoy working in an emergency mode, are setting themselves an accelerated pace of work. Many people in the process of active work experience a state of "flow", which was written by Mihai Chiksentmihai, even if this work was not creative and not seemingly interesting.

Many psychologists write performance evaluation criteria, according to which it can be judged that this is not your job, that you have to quit your job and look for something more appropriate, interesting and developing. I often face the opposite situation.

Many clients feel the interest and the state of "flow" in their "real" work, which is unloved by all the evaluation criteria and at the same time trying to realize themselves in the creative work. Is it worth making a choice or-or-or making a choice? I think not. Especially if this is the integrity of the person, if switching from one activity to another leads to a more complete realization of the person, if the person is happy with the realization that he can do much.

In my article I would like to say that we can do different things, even if they are contradictory, and fully implement them, we can simultaneously work in the office and work on ourselves, we can in any situation see a lesson and development. We can do a lot of things.
