Blogs Moms (Olga and Julia): hi, Catherine! We're happy to see you at Mom Blogs. Tell us a little about yourself. How did the transition from a career as an international diplomat to a child development specialist take place?

Catherine: Probably me because in the work of a diplomat is nothing but shoes and business suits and didn't like, it so happened that I was meant to find the kids.

Hi! My name is Katya, I have two wonderful children — Darianna 4.5 years and Miroslav 2.3 years. Sometimes, we hug them with her husband and think how much God has given us wealth! It is a great happiness to have children, though sometimes associated with various difficulties, fatigue, lack of time for yourself, as well as the work of the soul and growing up, work on yourself.

Even some 10 years ago I had no thoughts about children, I was engaged in equestrian sports, studied Indonesia (I am an orientalist by education), embodied the dream to travel to this amazing country to my heart's content, when my husband and I worked in Jakarta (the capital of Indonesia, the sun and white sand is not present, it is a stressful stone jungle).

I have two wonderful children-Darianna 4.5 years and Miroslav 2.3 years.

And then on a business trip I met a friend who became an example of my mother, wise, calm and patient (it seemed to me then that she had an unreal reserve of patience). And thanks to the gift of friends-M. Ibuka "After three it's too late", I was so carried away by early development, I read a lot of psychological books about education, the benefit of the book I'm lucky, and read me a lot of help and support. So write about them in blog, and so pleased to read messages, that my advice revere these books, too, someone helped!

Olga and Julia: If parents plan to show their child Indonesia, what would you recommend to visit?

Ekaterina: I also write about travelling in Indonesia. Together with my husband, we visited the most interesting places, and especially for the release of this article on the Blogs of Mothers, I prepared a story about a vacation with children in Bali. Here is with children I advise to go only there.

Indonesia is a beautiful country, but tourism, in our understanding, is underdeveloped there! Either it's hard to get there, overtaking the unwilling trucks on the mountain road, or you get three planes and find yourself in a hotel where the sheets are not washed, but dried in the sun. This is all my real experience.

There are beautiful places for diving, but the beaches are not suitable for swimming. Bali has everything! From kids friendly hotels to decent health care, from the coast where there are no strong waves to attractions that can be reached quickly. I note that Bali is so rich in cultural heritage that it is simply impossible not to see at least something! The island is also unique in that it is a stronghold of Hinduism in Muslim Indonesia, and the atmosphere on the island is special!

Jakarta, a city where it is impossible to walk, I was able to love, but still life on a business trip is difficult because you have to adapt to an alien way of life. For example, to get used to polluted air, not to be irritated when Indonesians, on purpose or not, are stupid, despite the fact that you speak to them in their language, although, in General, they are smiling and kind-hearted.

But the worst thing is the tradition of pinching a pretty child's cheek. To say "no" was useless, I just learned a kite for all to follow and intercept the hand. Some of the local cuisine is loved, and the soup of oxtails, I even tasted on the last day! At home, we almost do not cook Indonesian cuisine, it is not useful, and we adhere to a healthy diet. Is that fried rice with the addition of pieces of scrambled eggs and various vegetables, sweet soy sauce. Here is the Indonesian language, I definitely love more English.

Olga and Julia: the children have a small age difference, in fact-it's the weather. How do you manage to build relationships between them, is it possible to avoid jealousy?

Catherine: my Eldest sweetheart daughter often helps me with her younger sweetheart and a Tomboy (well, what more to be a boy), sometimes such wise advice, take care of him, helping to unbutton the robe, and he always runs to her fallen boots or ledyanka. In my experience, 70% of sibling relationships depend on parental behavior.

During pregnancy son I read everything there was to buy at the moment, slowly writing a book on the subject, the experience of something positive. Of course, they can argue, bring each other to tears, but without it it is impossible, and basically they are such friends!

I was up with them playing together from a very early age Miroslav, for example, when he was 3-6 months, I kept him at arm's length, and Daryacha ran under his legs, and both were fun. Or chasing her with him in her arms. They do not go to the garden, always together, and since Miroslav began to speak well, they communicate so wonderfully, argue, laugh, discuss something and tell each other! Poems Agnes Barto, Miroslav taught that Darasha.
