A sleeping place is very important for our kids, because even we will not be able to sleep in discomfort, and what can we say about kittens. Researchers have found that cats spend most of their lives (about 2/3) in a dream. Especially a lot of time is spent sleeping little kittens. Therefore, it is so important to choose a suitable "bedroom" for the pet, where he will always feel cozy and comfortable.
Of course, the kitten is able to find a convenient place in the house for itself, but far from always the choice of the pet is to the liking of its owner. Some owners are so attached to their favorites that they willingly forgive them all misconduct and easily put up with all their habits. In this case, problems with a berth, as a rule, do not arise, although it should be noted that this approach to raising an animal is by no means ideal.
But very often it happens and vice versa: the owner seeks to teach the kitten to sleep in any particular place, but all his attempts are unsuccessful, since the wayward pet stubbornly refuses to obey his will and prefers to make his own choice. Such conflicts can continue indefinitely, until the owner (but by no means a cat) surrenders and yields.
The best option is to find a compromise solution, taking into account both your requirements and the addictions and inclinations of the kitten. To do this, you need to know what rules a comfortable corner for the animal must comply with.
If from the very first days you do not accustom the kitten to sleep in the right place, then after he grows up it will be very difficult to wean him from falling asleep, for example, in your favorite armchair or even in bed.
First of all, it should be noted that a bed for a kitten is not only a place for sleeping and relaxing, but also a kind of point of view of the surrounding space. Therefore, many animals, especially those with a timid nature, prefer to sleep on a raised platform, from where they can see everything that is happening around.
Another important condition for feline comfort is warmth. In this regard, special care must be taken in the winter, when animals like to be located next to heating appliances, which sometimes leads to tragic consequences.
In addition, cats prefer secluded dark corners hidden from prying eyes (for this reason, animals often climb into the extended drawers of cabinets). In such a place, the pet feels safe, sleeps calmly and soundly.
The owner’s bed satisfies all these requirements in the best possible way - an ideal place for a cat attached to a person. It is both dark and warm and cozy, and besides, there is always a beloved host who is able to give a pet tenderness and affection. However, not every owner will allow a kitten to sleep in his bed, especially since this contradicts sanitary and hygienic standards. Even if you try to keep the animal in impeccable cleanliness (which, of course, is necessary), it is still better to choose another sleeping place for it, no less convenient.
For example, you can make a bed for a kitten in a spacious, but not too deep basket, lining it from the inside with a soft cloth. A cardboard box is also suitable for this purpose.
Its top should be left open, and the walls and bottom should be upholstered with foam rubber or any other soft enough material. It is advisable to suspend the basket or box from the ceiling so that the kitten could easily climb into it, or put it on a raised platform.
It is very important that the kitten's berth is comfortable. Otherwise, the baby will feel uncomfortable.
In addition, a variety of cat houses are sold in pet stores, and many pets prefer them as a place to relax. However, in any case, you should not impose your choice on the kitten: most likely this will not produce any results. Your pet will feel comfortable and sleep peacefully only in a place that he likes, so when setting up a cat corner, you need to take into account the desires, needs and habits of the kitten itself.
