Why soap? - Advantages of soaps for showering and hair washing

You might ask yourself: why soap? Why should I test myself and even risk having crunchy tips or glabby lengths when I can use shampoo? Why all the effort with sour rinse and at all? Because it is simply the greatest pleasure, I would answer.

But seriously: what are the advantages of showering and hair washing with soap? I have tried to collect different aspects, but they can be added if I or you can think of something else.

Creaming in after showering is almost superfluous, I cream at most 1 more time per week or if I just feel like it, it is rarely necessary. With a soap selection with up to 20% excess oil, there is something for every skin condition. (Daily creamed are still feet, elbows, and hands.)

Shaving in the shower is much easier with the soap foam than with shower gel (if you are not a shaving foam friend), of course, there are also extra shaving soaps, but a Babassu soap is actually enough: beautiful, thick, soft foam that lets the blade glide wonderfully.

The scents! The choice! Shower gels simply can't keep up with that. And you would never get so many different shower gels, would you? ;-) The room in which the soap is stored or dried will be scented and the bath smells heavenly after showering anyway.

The hair becomes more handy and at the same time softer through the soap, so obviously better cared for. Many don't even need a conditioner after washing. Only soap, rinse, done.

The hair gets more volume. That's good for fine hair, but I also notice that my hair gets more volume and that's nice! No more flat roots and fluffy lengths like with the laundry with conditioner (CO), the picture is more harmonious.

Waves and curls are more likely to be intensified by the right soap, probably in connection with the "firming" effect of the soap.

The shine! After soap washing with a good soap, the hair shines stronger and completely different than after shampoo. One could compare this with the shimmering of a soap bubble. Of course not so strong, but the iridescence is somehow there, I think. Even my curls, which are hard to shine, finally have a little shine!

Many people report that the scalp is greased less or at least differently, namely in such a way that it doesn't immediately look like a greasy head. I cannot judge with my dry scalp. ;-) At least soap didn't shorten my washing rhythm.

Sensitive scalps have a good chance to finally find something scalp-friendly. Of course, you have to test it individually and not every soap will work. But just because of the fact that there are so many different combinations of oils and also quite minimalistic soaps (1-2 oils), you can very well determine for yourself what you leave on the scalp. Itchy scalp, dandruff, etc. become less with many who have discovered their soap.

Foam, foam, foam. Anyone who has been using natural cosmetics for a long time knows that there is sometimes very little foaming, which is actually a good sign (little nasty surfactants, it will be clean anyway). Nevertheless, such a foam mountain on the body or on the head simply makes a little more fun! :-)

Oh yes, the garbage. It's not first-class for me, but quite nice: no more plastic bottles! At the most a sandwich paper bag or something similar that you have to throw away. So also something for real ecos. :-)

I can well imagine soaps on my travels. With a little luck, you can find a soap that you can use for your hair as well as for your body and then you can take it with you on a short trip. On longer trips, you can also take two different soaps with you. You can cut soaps, you don't have to pack the whole piece. A small bottle of vinegar and the equipment is ready. To dry the soap another organza bag...

I have almost forgotten soaps for the face now: but yes, soaps are positive here too, making the skin clearer and more beautiful. Maybe you shouldn't expect miracles, at least I haven't experienced them yet, but my skin is a little bit better than before. And I haven't yet tested all the salt soaps that are suitable for sensitive skin, so maybe I can still find them, THE facial soap that solves all the problems. :-)

Well, are you convinced? Since I started, I have become more and more addicted to soap addiction. I only use soaps for face, body, and hair. I can't imagine using a shower gel anymore, I don't feel like it anymore. Maybe a bit strange. But soap is really fun!

Supplements, which occurred to me or others (thank you, Alba):

The ingredients of soap are of course much less critical than very, very many products that are otherwise available for body and hair care. It's also easier to understand what's inside (oils and NaOH). Alcohol, hot surfactants or added glycerine and other things that you might not want to have are no longer a problem with a genuine natural soap.

For sensitive cuticles there are soaps completely without fragrances or dyes (also preservatives), otherwise, you often search in vain.

One simply gets soaps in organic quality, if one attaches importance to it

You can easily avoid palm oil, if you pay attention to the soap selection, some soap boilers boil basically palm oil-free, so you don't even have to look closely!

Soaps have a very, very long shelf life and with longer storage are better than worse (if there is not a lot of fast rancid oil in them), because they still ripen and are then milder and more productive. Cooler, darker place, rather airy packaging and it's good. So you can keep a small supply without having to worry about throwing something away.

With the purchase of soaps one does not support the large companies, but small offerers, one can also buy purposefully regionally. People who make soap are usually just as crazy about soap as you are (of course). And then you have besides the soap also superette contacts (I have so far really ONLY good experiences with soap shops made).
