Common sense is resting! Some of these holes in the plot are the merit of the scriptwriters, others came straight from the original fairy tales. We have collected for you 11 errors and contradictions that you almost certainly never thought about.
1. Elsa's very strange magical abilities
Let's think about what Elsa from Frozen can do. At first glance, all her abilities are connected exclusively with ice, because her queen is the Snow Queen. But if we take a closer look at it, but notice a lot of amazing moments. For example, where did her powers come from? Should she practice to become stronger? Is it not strange that she managed to build an entire palace from ice in seconds after many years of suppressing her strength? You can snort: “This is magic!” And you will be right. But we have more difficult questions. How did Elsa create new clothes for herself and where did the old go? Is it connected with snow? ..
2. Why does Ariel believe Ursula, which everyone knows as an evil witch?
Witch Ursula Cartoon Little Mermaid Frame from the cartoon The Little Mermaid (1989) The little mermaid Ariel is obsessed with the world of people, and her desire to get there only intensifies after she sees Prince Eric. For the sake of love for him, she is ready for anything - even give her voice to the witch in exchange for human legs. But doesn’t it seem strange to you here? No matter how you want to be with someone, but if your father, the most powerful creature in your world, has expelled a witch from his kingdom for various atrocities, you should be smart enough to stay away from her.
3. How did Belle manage to throw a monster on a horse?
Belle on a horse cartoon Beauty and the Beast Frame from the cartoon “Beauty and the Beast” (1991) When Belle decides to escape from the castle on a horse, a pack of wolves attacks her. The monster saves the girl, but due to wounds faints in the snow. Belle does not abandon him, but decides to return. The following frames show us how a horse approaches a castle with a monster on its back. How fragile Belle had the strength to throw such a huge beast on a horse, and why didn’t her legs bend? By the way, in the 2017 film adaptation, this error was fixed - Belle asked the monster to climb a horse on her own.
4. Pocahontas speaks English
Pocahontas and John Smith frame from the cartoon Frame from the cartoon "Pocahontas" (1995) It is clear why Disney decided to make Pocahontas entirely in English - children would hardly want to read subtitles. But it should be clear to us that the Indians could not know the language of John Smith. In the cartoon, this problem is solved simply - the girl closes her eyes, hears the voice of her grandmother “Listen with your heart” and suddenly begins to speak the desired language. Even her faithful companions from this in shock!
5. Strange Hair Rapunzel
Rapunzel and her stepmother cartoon frame Frame from the cartoon “Rapunzel: A Tangled Story” (2010) Rapunzel's hair is long and constantly dragging on the ground, but remains clean, smooth and shiny. Yes, they are magical. But is it really so that their length is constantly changing? Take a look, in different scenes they are shown in different ways. The impression is that they are generally always such that it was convenient for the scriptwriters! And when they are plaited into a braid, then it does not even reach a few centimeters to the ground. And since we began to criticize the screenwriters of Rapunzel, then tell us how her magical hair is connected with tear ducts? Why did her tears also turn out to be healing?
6. Just a selfish person and nothing but
Merida Archery Cartoon Frame Brave Frame from the cartoon "Brave" (2012) The very image of Merida from "Braveheart" is called perhaps the biggest mistake of "Disney". Unlike other princesses, she is much more selfish. There are no interesting qualities in it, except for a mane of bright red hair. She is a tomboy and flees from marriage, like many before her (for example, Princess Jasmine). But unlike its predecessors, its actions can lead to war between clans and the death of many people. If she is such a leader, she could have come up with a better solution than disgracing her own mother by shooting at targets to prove her independence.
7. Megara makes the same mistake twice
Megara only at the beginning pretends to be a "virgin in trouble", and then turns out to be Hades' assistant in the mortal world. She does this not of her own free will - once upon a time a girl fell in love with a guy for whose sake she made a deal with Hades. The villain saved her lover, but he soon abandoned Megara for another woman. Now she repeats the same story with Hercules. What is the moral of this tale? What can we make any number of identical mistakes in search of true love? ..
8. Love Jasmine is based on a lie
Of course, Aladdin is one of the cutest and most charming male characters in Disney cartoons. But if a guy constantly lies to you in order to achieve some of his goals, does such love have a future? However, since Jasmine is so naive that for several scenes she didn’t recognize Aladdin’s completely unchanged, her girl’s memory will certainly help her forget this unpleasant moment.
9. Moana does not change at all
The meaning of any fairy tale story is to change its main character, its growth and development. However, Disney, having played the game of feminism, eventually managed to create a princess who not only did not need a prince (Moana, as well as Braveheart, completely lacks a love line), but which does not even need to be changed in order to achieve your goal. Moana from the very beginning is strong in spirit, independent and tears into the ocean. She is able to fulfill her mission from the very first shots. Maui has to change here, but the cartoon is not named after him.
10. The power of Cinderella is only in her friends
The cartoon told us such a story that Cinderella, despite her distress, looks like a man who coped with all the troubles solely due to the necessary acquaintances. She herself does nothing for herself. One dress gets from mice with birds, the other from a good fairy. Even from captivity in the attic, faithful rodents rescue her under pain of death. What is the moral? Work honestly and then you will get everything without making any effort?
11. Why did Elsa's forces hide from Anna?
Finish on the same cartoon with which we started - "Frozen." As a child, Elsa accidentally crippled Anna, her parents carried her to the trolls and they selectively erased her memories. Why was it so difficult to complicate the situation? The king and queen knew about the causes of the incident, so what could have changed the knowledge of another person? Wouldn't it be easier for Elsa if she could trust someone? Wouldn’t it be easier for Anna if she had known about the reasons for her sister’s retreat? But then there would not be the rest of the plot, which means that the scriptwriters are ready to compose any nonsense in order to reach the desired starting point.
