The most expensive teddy bear. Vinipool!

January 18, 1882 in London was noticed by English writer Alan Alexander Milne. On October 14, 1926 in London was located the book "Winnie the Pooh" by Alan Milne. Later the book with stories that the writer wrote for the personal descendant of Christopher Robin, was translated into 29 languages of the world, and the protagonist of the stories - Winnie the Pooh bear - became a character in cartoons. We made a selection of interesting facts about the book by Milton, the main characters and their layouts. In the Russian Federation, this work is known to all of us thanks to Boris Zahoder's translation, the Russian cartoon by Fyodor Khitruk and the Disney cartoons. Nowadays, there is not one version of the story of Milne written by Boris Zahoder. The most popular book is from 18 chapters. 1 chief is skipped, and 1 more is reduced to 1 paragraph. Not believing so, there is no initiation. In 1990 this "shortened" translation was joined by 2 - not translated before, but this version is still

"RG highlights the differences between the original Vinnie and the Russian version.

Headline Characters

The meaning of the names of the heroes in the original and in the Russian translation is interesting. Thus, Winnie-the-Pooh turned into Winnie the Pooh and Piglet into Piglet. The original name of the leading character - Winnie-the-Pooh - should be translated into text as Winnie-the-Pooh, but the same variant is hardly likely to be considered as euphonious.

The word "down" is similar to the English word "pooh", i.e. the usual transliteration, not believing it to be the same, as Christopher Robin called swans to himself as one of the pooh data, and down is connected with them. By the way, everyone will remember that Winnie the Pooh has sawdust in his head, but in the original Winnie is a clubfoot bear with small enough brains.

The English word piglet, which became its own in Milne's book, means "pig". As one of this value should be considered closer in meaning, but for the Russian baby, and nowadays, and for the Russian character is in demand in the literary translation as Piglet.

Eeyore donkey in Russian translation became Ia. By the way, this is literal translation - Eeyore sounds like "iyo", and for example, as one of this sound is made by donkeys.

The owl - Owl - for example, remained an owl, like Rabbit - Rabbit and literally Tigger - Tigger.

Owl

Not paying attention to the fact that the name of this character practically remained the same - Owl is actually translated into Russian as an owl, the hero himself has undergone significant configuration in the Russian version. Milne invented a character of the masculine kind, that is, in the Russian Federation, it would be worth calling him Owl (which, of course, is far from the original), Sich, or in what quantity and Sovenok. In our case, first of all, I would like to thank Boris Zahoder's translation - this is a female character. By the way, Sova Milna in the distance is not the most intelligent hero of the book - likes to use experienced words, but is not sufficiently literate, and Sova Zahoder - and the Russian cartoon directed by Hitruk - the wisest dilapidated lady, which resembles a schoolteacher.

By strangers B.

The famous tablet with the inscription "Strangers V.", which hangs close to the entrance to the house of Pyatachka, is still worth our attention. In the Russian version with the inscription there are literally no questions - it means "unauthorized entry is prohibited", not everything, Piglet himself explained it as follows: Aliens V. - it is the name of his grandfather - Aliens Willie or William the Strangers, and the plate emphasizes the meaning for his family. The original ammunition is more interesting. English phrase Trespassers W. - is an abbreviated version of Trespassers Will be prosecuted, which means that the literal translation into Russian means "Those who invaded this land will be prosecuted" (which is certainly replaced by the traditional one - "No one is allowed to enter this land").

According to some information, Milne had a chance to include this phrase intentionally in the individual text, so that children, having read the episode before, asked their parents to tell them about the provided expression and, first of all, the words trespasser and trespass.

Elephant-bearers

Scary and scary Elephant Elephant is a fictional hero of Winnie the Pooh. In English, the word heffalump is used, which is similar in sound and spelling to another English word - probably used in the language - elephant, which means "elephant". By the way, as one for example, as a rule, and represent an elephant. In Russian, the boss of this character - ...in which a search is organdized, and Piglet meets the Heffalump again (the chapter in which searches are organized and Piglet meets the Elephant Piglet again), was not seen immediately - Zahoder translated it only in 1990.

Cartoon

The original version and the Russian cartoon of Hitruk are quite different. For starters, the cartoon lacks Christopher Robin. Secondly, the Russian Winnie the Pooh is more like a real bear, while Winnie Milna is a toy. He looks like a children's toy in the Disney cartoon as well. Not believing so, our Winnie the Pooh does not wear clothes, and the true one - sometimes a blouse. Third, there are no characters like Tiger, Keng and Little Roo. Fourth, the loss of Ia-Ya's tail and its miraculous birthday location can only be found in a cartoon. In the book, these two influences are certainly not related to each other - two separate stories.

Songs Winnie the Pooh. I know Winnie the Pooh's songs - "I am Tuchka, Tuchka, Tuchka, and not a club-footed bear" - in the Russian version are more vivid. First of all, I thank them for their name. That, actually that in English language is simply called song - "song", in Russian it is called "song-pychtelka", "grumpy grumpy", "noisy".

Kanga. Kanga's appearance in the original version of the work is a real shock to the heroes. The message to this is that the fact that all the characters who are included in the book for the moment is masculine, and Keng is feminine. As one of the consequences of this invasion of the boy's galaxy girl is made for other great task. In the Russian version of this effect does not come out, for example, as we have an Owl - still feminine.

In the event that Winnie the Pooh was real, he would be one of the richest characters in the world. The fact is that in fact, it is in the list of Forbes Winnie the Pooh takes second place as the "most carriageway character" with a volume of 5.6 billion $ retail world sales. Bypasses it only Mickey Mouse. The meaning of this character forms 5.8 billion $.
