The total area of this territory is 13 million kilometers. This is more than 75% of the entire territory of Russia. There are 35 million people living here, representatives of different cultures and language features.

Animals of Siberia

Animals of Siberia are very diverse. They are found throughout the entire area. This population is explained by the diversity of the intrazonal landscape.

Among the animals in the Red Book of Siberia are: peregrine falcon, black stork, burial ground, Ussurian tiger, mountain goat, Tuvan beaver, oyster, sharp-eared night-life and many others.

We will talk about these and other representatives of the fauna today.

Triton

This small-size amphibian is distinguished by its long tail. Biologists believe it belongs to the salamander family. Triton is widespread in Russia, especially in Siberia. But, every year, their population decreases significantly. The average body length of the triton is 11 cm.

Under favorable environmental conditions, it grows to 15 cm. Males are larger than females. 40% of the amphibian's body surface is tail.

It is believed that if you rip off this part of the body, it will grow literally before your eyes. In fact, this is a misconception, so do not do it, because removing the tail will not entail anything but the suffering of the animal.

When the triton is in the water for a long time, the surface of his body is covered with small scales. And if he prefers to stay on land for a long time, it will be very smooth.

Dark tritons are most often found in the wild, and less often in green. Regardless of the color, the head of the amphibian is covered with brown and black thin stripes.

Black Crane

Siberia's animal world is diverse. It is represented not only by unique mammals, amphibians and insects, but also by birds.

Black Crane is one of the largest birds living here. Due to the rapid decline of the population, it is listed in the Red Book. Its body length is from 90 to 110 cm.

Male cranes are slightly larger than females. The crane's legs, tail and torso are painted black, and the head and neck are white. On its top there is a red spot, which covers the eye area as well. The beak of this stork has a green-pink hue.

It lives mainly in the marshy areas. The nest is in the nest before reproduction. Thick forest thickets do not attract the black crane, it is indifferent to them. He prefers to nest in small areas rather than large ones.

Before the winter cold weather, the bird leaves the wetland and settles near fields, mainly rice fields. The peculiarity of the black crane is its omnivoractivity.

Among the products of its diet are not only plants, but also insects and animals. Bird's favorite food is berries and frogs. By the way, it catches amphibians very cleverly, quickly swallowing them.

As the number of black storks is decreasing every year, national legislation has placed it under its guardianship.

Frog

This animal of western Siberia is very common not only here, but throughout Russia. It is difficult to find a water body without frogs.

The population of the lake frog in Siberia is huge. When a fisherman goes to the water in the early morning, he can be sure that his loneliness will be brightened up by these small green amphibians. By the way, the body length of a medium-sized frog is 15 cm.

The more favorable the living conditions, the larger the size of the frog it reaches.

Moose

the largest animal in eastern Siberia is a moose. It belongs to mammals. Its habitat is dense mixed forests.

Moose avoids people because it is afraid of attack. Yes, despite his size, he is quite scared. There are slightly more than 700 thousand moose in the whole territory of the Russian Federation. Such an animal weighs more than 500 kg.

A male moose is larger than a female and weighs 50-70 kg more. The body of this animal is massive. On his neck there is a withers. Since it is quite fluffy, there is a visual opinion that the moose has a hump.

In fact, its magnificent hump is a fold of fat and wool. Thanks to its long, massive legs, coming to the watering hole, the elk can go deep enough into the water.
