One of the means of folk medicine is castor oil, which has various healing properties. I will not stop here on its famous classical laxative action; I will stop here on its local action on skin and subcutaneous tissues.

For the first time, I learned about the effectiveness of castor oil as an external remedy, when a rural doctor told me that he successfully used it to remove warts. I started collecting different ways of using the castor, and among them, I highlighted the following.

When the warts are removed, the castor is rubbed into the warts for about 20 minutes at night and in the morning to ensure that the oil absorbs well into warts.

The castor is successfully used to heal ulcers on the body.

Older women; if obstetric care is needed, castor oil is usually used to lubricate a newborn's navel in case of poor healing.

Castor oil is used to lubricate nipples to increase milk production.

When irritation and redness of the mucous membrane of the eyes in them buried on 1 drop of castor oil to reduce irritation.

If young children grow badly or liquid hair in the scalp carefully rubbing castor oil overnight. In the morning, the head is washed. This procedure is done twice a week until there is a noticeable improvement in the condition of the hair, which can then be maintained by using this method once every 2 weeks or once a month.

When using castor oil, such as external oil, 3 times a week, lashes grow faster and become longer; the same method of rubbing the castor into the hair roots is used to increase eyebrow growth.

Many farmer families always keep a bottle of castor oil at hand. People familiar with folk medicine grease any cut, abrasion, or pain with castor oil, dipping a bird's feather in it.

With hemorrhoids outside the anus also helps castor oil, softening the mucous membrane and helping to eliminate the disease.

Twice a week or more, when working overtime at night, you can rub your feet with castor oil before going to bed and then put cotton socks on them. In the morning, the skin will become soft, velvety and usually, the feeling of fatigue and pain will disappear completely. Similarly, castor oil can be used overnight and in the morning to soothe blisters and corns and relieve pain. Castor oil is considered to be a specific remedy for soft blisters.

Corn oil is a good source of acid. As a result of a complete analysis of corn oil, it's acid composition per total fat is as follows:

  • Linolenic acid - 1.85
  • linoleic acid - 38.24
  • Oleic acid - 42.78
  • Palmitic acid - 7.56
  • Stearic acid - 4.82
  • arachidonic acid - 0.22
  • lignoceric acid - traces

The following observations have been made as a result of the use of corn oil. In addition to the previously mentioned treatment, daily consumption of 1 tablespoon of corn oil per meal, or per meal for three meals a day with hay fever, asthma, migraine was effective. The value of corn oil is that it changes the chemical reaction of the body from alkaline to acidic. The following observations were made: when peeling and granulomas of the eyelid edges it is effective to use within a month 1 tablespoon of corn oil at breakfast and dinner. This product allows you to eliminate peeling, softening the skin, giving it elasticity.

Using corn oil once or three times a day for food was effective in treating angioneurotic edema characterized by sudden swelling of one of the lips, half of the face or any part of the forehead. The use of corn oil inside usually causes swelling to disappear completely. Patients also told me that this method is effective for hair and scalp recovery. If hair is lifeless and can barely be brushed or combed, eating corn oil inside for one to two months at breakfast and dinner will help restore shine and silky hair. It also eliminates dandruff.

The oil can be used effectively in combination with regular washing of the head. I recommend the following method: heated oil is carefully rubbed into the skin of the chaff, wrap your head with a squeezed towel, previously lowered into hot water, repeat this procedure 5-6 times, then wash your head with neutral soap. As a result, the hair will acquire an unusual shine.

In general, I am firmly convinced by experience that such methods of application of oils in folk medicine have a logical basis; they once again confirm that the basis of all folk medicine is the effective use of therapeutic and prophylactic properties of various plants and substances that can be used with a guarantee provided by nature itself.
