Pallas' cat or what's his name, Pallas' cat, was named after his discoverer Peter Pallas. Externally, the wild cat looks like a cat squad. Especially noteworthy are thick wool, widely spaced ears, powerful short paws and a flattened face. The habitat of such cats is steppe territory and semi-deserts full of slopes and precipices.

Pallas' cats are very careful, and if they feel threatened, they prefer to lurk in the bushes without making a sound. Rodents, hares, birds and some insects feed on wild cats. Pallas' cat resting in a hole during the day, and the rest of the time is active. Because of their small size, Pallas' Pallas' Pallas' Guards are wolves, foxes and large birds of prey.

Each year the female Pallas' cat can bring up to 5 kittens. Up to 2 months, the babies are completely defenseless, only by three months they begin to master the principles of hunting. Puberty comes at 11 months after birth. On the will of the Pallas' Manual live a little more than 10 years, in zoos, much less. In captivity, wild cats bring offspring very seldom, and the mortality rate of newborns is very high. Pallas' cages and freedom-loving cats lead to a serious stressful condition of the animal. Despite these indicators, people continue to imprison their cats. About 50 Pallas' manuals are currently in zoos.

Because of the cautionary nature of this type of cat, no one can tell you how many exactly wild cats live in the world. Scientists assume that about 3 thousand cats are left in Russia. According to general data, the population of Pallas' cats is rapidly declining. Although the presence of people in the animal habitat is minimal, the danger to pallas' cats is represented by abandoned traps and traps, dogs and poaching. In winter, the diet of Pallas' cats is significantly reduced due to the severe cold weather, which also has a negative impact on their life expectancy.

All Pallas' cat species are listed in the International Red Book, CITES Convention and Red Book of the Russian Federation. Killing an animal is strictly prohibited. Measures to protect the rare cat species are being actively developed. Reserves with favorable conditions for the existence of Pallas' cats are at the planning stage. There, scientists will be able to study animals without bringing discomfort to these unusual cats.

There's another big cat

White tigers are very large and no less beautiful. White is an inborn mutation of Bengali tigers. The size of unique animals is inferior to that of ordinary tigers. You can often see defects in the gait, pupils and spine.

The rare color of tigers always attracts great attention of both biologists and ordinary people. The white tiger cannot be called an albino tiger, as it has dark brown stripes all over the body, and white wool is mostly creamy. Some scientists are of the opinion that there is no need to increase the population of a unique species, as its survival rate will always be low due to frequent physiological deviations.

Habitats

Given the small number of white Bengali tigers, it is difficult to see the predator in natural conditions. Tigers inhabit India, Sundabaran, Budapest and Nepal. In the middle of the 20th century the first representative of white tigers was found, who soon gave birth to his offspring.

For habitation predators choose the certain territory on which live long time. Preference is given to places where the tiger will have enough prey and individuals of the opposite sex. If males often hunt and live alone, females get along well with each other and even raise their offspring together.

Nutrition and lifestyle

The main prey for white Bengali tigers remains hoofed animals. To stay healthy, the tiger needs to kill about 60 ungulates a year. The tiger prefers to hunt alone, waiting for prey in an ambush or sneaking up on it. The adult leap is 9 metres long and 5 metres high, and the total weight of the slaughtered prey may be 6 times the weight of the tiger himself.

The tigers are well placed to reproduce in captivity. Even two white parents may have red babies. Tiger cubs can breed up to 3 times a year. 1 to 4 kittens are born at a time. The threat to newborns is presented by the father himself and other males, so the females raise the children separately. Full independence comes to young tigers at the age of one and a half years.
