Although Facebook is currently the largest social networking site, other sites in the social networking arena should not be underestimated. In order to get a glimpse of the activity of various well-known social sites, we used Google Trends to conduct traffic analysis on some mainstream social sites and list 29 websites with 1 million unique visitors per day.
Although the number of independent visitors does not represent the number of users, at least we can see the activity and popularity of the site from this data.
It should be noted that this statistic is calculated by Google Trends through its own algorithm, so there may be some discrepancies with the actual traffic. First, let's take a look at the approximate status of these 29 website rankings and daily independent visits:
From the above picture we can roughly understand the following points:
- 1. Facebook has claimed that half of the users log on to the site every day. From the above picture, we found that this number is not excessively exaggerated.
- 2. For the second place Orkut. We mentioned in the article "How big is Google", affiliated with Google, the main traffic comes from Brazil and India. But the gap with the first place is quite large.
- 3. The worst thing should belong to Myspace, ranking only 12th. If it is said to be bad, there should be a Friendster, which has fallen out of the ranks of a million.
- 4. Facebook's traffic is amazingly amazing, adding up the traffic of the other 28 websites, less than 2/3 of it.
Let's take a separate analysis of each website:
Facebook
You should not have to introduce too much. From the above chart we can see that Facebook's daily traffic makes it impossible for all other websites. And this is just the amount of website traffic, Facebook currently has 600 million users, of which 200 million often use mobile phones to log in. If you add users who have logged in to the phone, this data will be even larger. As you can see from the chart below, Facebook's daily visits are still growing steadily. Born in 2004.
Orkut
Google’s first product in the social space, although it all said that it failed, but the traffic is still not underestimated. Orkut is still very popular in Brazil and India, and the number of visitors continues to rise. Born in 2004.

Twitter
There is no need to introduce too much. The introduction of these sites has been enough. This data on Twitter should be unfair, because many people use a variety of client-side apps to post messages instead of logging into the Twitter site, and the data is not counted. Born in 2006.

iWiW
iWiW is actually an abbreviation of "International Who is Who", from the social networking site in Hungary. Named "WIW" when it was born in 2002, it means the same, but it lacks "internationalization."
Conclusion:
- 1. Many users of the site are accessed through the mobile phone, so the statistics here are only the traffic statistics of the login to the website through the browser.
- 2. The social networking field has become the world of Facebook. Facebook's victory lies not in its socialization, but in its openness, which should be open to all the functions, so that people can simultaneously engage in any other network operations in the social process.
