Supporters of the second more believable version believe that the builders of the megaliths were the legendary Lemurians and Atlanteans. The facts speak in favor of this version.
1) The huge blocks from which megaliths were built were brought to more or less considerable distances. For example, Stonehenge is built of stones weighing from 5 to 25 tons (some weigh and 50 tons), mined from different places, mainly from South Wales, and this is almost 200 kilometers. Who could do this? Presumably giants, whose growth reached 3 - 6 meters. The remains of these giants are found everywhere today. Therefore, it is appropriate to say that the "authors" of the megaliths were giant people, and such are the ancient Lemurians and Atlanteans.
2) Researchers at Stonehenge and other megaliths were incredibly surprised when they discovered that they were built in the so-called "golden section", which is a unique geometric discovery. It is in such a "golden section" that all Egyptian pyramids were built, including the most famous - the Cheops pyramid. What does it mean? It turns out that the Egyptians inherited from the unknown builders of megaliths a unique way of erecting structures, in which proportions are preserved that make the structures stable, differing in beauty. Therefore, the researchers say, the Egyptians are the direct descendants of the Atlanteans, who built megaliths, and taught the Egyptians to build grandiose stone structures, adhering to the principle of the "golden section".
3) The most "young" of megaliths, have an age of two to three thousand years. But, after all, there are megaliths on Earth, whose age is ten, or even twelve thousand years. What kind of people lived at that time? Supporters of the Atlantean version claim, with reference to Plato, Herodotus, Pliny the Elder and other ancient historians, that at that time Atlantis was still not completely immersed in the waters of the oceans. Some land remained unoccupied with water, on which the Atlanteans dominated, striving to preserve their knowledge of the Cosmos. For this, they built megaliths, which are observatories. Really. For example, Stonehenge is not only a solar and lunar calendar, but is an accurate model of the solar system in cross section. According to this model, the solar system does not consist of nine, but of twelve planets, two of which are located beyond the orbit of Pluto, and another is between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter, where the asteroid belt is now located. In principle, this model confirms the assumptions of modern astronomical science and is fully consistent with the ideas of many ancient peoples, who also believed that the number of planets in our solar system is twelve.
Thus, we can state that megaliths, which also include dolmens and menhirs, are essentially sacred carriers of secret knowledge left by ancient people. Our task is to treat them with care; if possible, try to unravel their secret meaning.
