"I loved you, Eva Farlow, I loved you. And I guess you never loved me..."
He looked at me in surprise, as if trying to remember, but I had never seen him before. Next to the mirror, bree sat with his hands folded in his lap, his eyes wide. Well, in the chair next to the guitarist, Roger sat in a fluffy white robe, draped over his wet body. The latter was the most surprised, for he had not expected to see me there at all.
"Hey, boys. It's good to see you, " I said, tucking a strand of hair behind my ear.
Eva, Hello, ' cried Brian, and walked over to me, and I like it a gift for his birthday. I'm glad to see you, where have you been?
"I'm sorry, but I didn't know it was your birthday, so no gift," I said guiltily. How old are you now?
— Twenty eight.
I smiled and looked at Roger. He glared at me. Lighting up, the guy asked me a question:
"What the hell are you doing here, eve?"
"Blondie, don't start. She came to see you, " Freddie said for me, leaning against the doorjamb.
Ha ha! Is it serious? Did you walk out and decide to come back, thinking that you are here waiting with open arms? You're late, Mademoiselle! I have a favorite girl who will soon come here, meet her. Unlike you, she doesn't run away from me when she gets bored.
My eyes filled with tears, and a lump began to rise in my throat. I decided to answer Roger, keeping my tone calm:
— I've already met her, so don't complicate matters. I came to say thank you for everything and go back to London.
I looked at the guys — Freddie was staring in amazement at the drummer, who was shooting lightning bolts in my direction, Brian was looking at the floor, and John was looking from me to Roger, trying to figure out what was going on.
The girl I'd met in the VIP lounge came into the dressing room.
"There's my sweet," Roger exclaimed, rising from his chair to join her, " we were just talking about you." Guys, I want you to meet my favorite girl, her name is Letty.
"Hello, boys." I'm so glad to see you so close that my heart stops. Rogie's told me a lot about you, " the brunette babbled, hugging the drummer, who was still looking me in the eye.
"Blondie, you didn't tell us you were in a relationship," Freddie said, coming up to me and taking my hand, knowing I was uncomfortable with what was happening.
— There was no right moment, and now is the time!" he laughed.
"Hey, you were the one sitting next to me at the concert, right?" Letty asked me.
"That's right," I said, tightening my grip on Freddie's hand.
"What's your name?"
"It doesn't matter. It was nice to meet you. Bye guys, — I said to the boys, freed from the hands of the singer.
I left the dressing room and headed for the door. It became difficult to breathe, as if there was not enough air at all. Leaning my left hand against the wall, I quietly made my way through the unknown corridors.
"Eve, wait," a familiar voice called.
I turned and saw Brian.
— To be honest, I'm shocked at what I saw, but I'm sure Roger did it to hurt you." You left him alone for so long, he's mad at you. Wait a bit, and it will cool down.
"No, I won't wait, bree," I said quietly, " he has a girlfriend, so I'm going back to London."
— It's your prerogative, but first I want to invite you to my birthday party." I hope you'll come " — he patted my shoulder-"Buckland street, Dave & Buster's at 22:00." Please come, don't upset me.
I nodded and went on looking for a way out.
Five minutes later I was outside. I sat down on the bench and cried like a little girl. I did not know what to do next — to go back to London and live with unrequited love in my heart for Roger, or to try to fight for my happiness and regain the trust and love of the drummer in all ways, what would it not cost me?
I took a taxi back to the hotel and hurried to my room, afraid to see anyone in the group. Slamming the door behind me, I sank onto the bed, deep in thought. Walking around Manchester for about two hours, I decided that I would win Roger's love and affection, just as he had won me in his time.
Glancing at the wall clock, I realized I didn't have much time, so I had to get ready for Brian's birthday at the bar.
After a quick shower, I decided to choose what to wear to the event. It was necessary to look impressive and memorable, so that Roger forgot about Letty as soon as he saw me. But alas, things I took a bit, so had to content with those, that there is.
Fifteen minutes later I was taking the Elevator down to the first floor. I glanced at my reflection in the hotel hall mirror and smiled. A short black dress, the sleeves of which were made of light tulle, looked perfect on me. The addition was chic suede high-heeled shoes, long shiny earrings and a cream clutch. Her makeup was more elaborate than it had been that morning — neat hands, thick mascara, and scarlet lipstick. I didn't do anything with my hair, just straightened it. The trail of expensive perfume stretched behind me for about half a kilometer, because I poured almost half a bottle on myself.
Oliver was leaning against the car outside the hotel.
"I thought I couldn't wait for you, eve." Guys already in a bar, waiting for only you. You look great, by the way, " he said, looking me up and down.
"Thanks, but the boys can wait." We're going to pick up the birthday present. I ordered something, but I don't think I'm going to make it to the bar alone, so you're going to help me, " I said as I got into the car.
"Well, whatever you say," laughed Oliver.
- Astrophoto camera. When Roger and I were together, he told me Brian loved astronomy. So I thought I'd give him something to do with his hobby.
— And you're brainy, answered the man, looking in the rear vision mirror — so where to go to get this miracle of technology?
Thank you for attention!
