In summer Austrian alpine lakes confidently claim the title of "place in paradise." On our last, already such a long, summer trip to Salzburg and the surrounding area, we stopped for a couple of hours in Fuschl am See.
The atmosphere impressed with its calm, tranquility and wonderful views of the lake. Since then, I cherished the dream of getting here for a few days.

The water in them is glacial, but in the smaller lakes it is surprisingly warm. And it was very pleasant to dip in them your pampered body of the Israeli Mediterranean. It was also nice to walk along the well-groomed paths around the lake (12 kilometers on foot, by the way), climb Mount Schafberg, so that while slowly drinking beer at its top, contemplate the surrounding beauty and the flight of hang gliders ("Probably only a hang glider will help me ...").
But come on, I'll tell you everything in order.
It was impossible to dream about the place where we settled. After the frenzied rhythm of our lives, we got a wooden zimmer with 4 numbers on the edge of the lake, away from worldly bustle, with cows grazing peacefully on the fragrant grass, breathtaking views of the mountains, forest and lake. The very first morning I was lifted up like a magic wave without any alarms at dawn.
The soul sang, the body rang, the cows on the meadow rattled with bells. I wanted to run into the forest for strawberries,
to the lake for the smell of fresh water and sand, climb into the mountains for something distant there.

This is one of the most heavenly places we have ever been to.
The house stands off the road, so it is surprisingly quiet, at dawn you can hear the cows on the meadow crackling grass.
Wonderful air and breathtaking views of the lake from the balcony. The house is buried in flowers, in the room all the furniture is wooden and very comfortable. The bed and pillows are a separate song: you go into sleep smoothly and wake up early with a feeling of complete relaxation. The mistress of Romana and her husband are wonderful and welcoming hosts, the breakfast was fresh and delicious, the soft-boiled eggs were perfect, the fruits were lovingly decorated with a sprig of currant.
By car there is no problem at all, a five-minute drive to a supermarket with everything you need, 15 minutes to Salzburg. But you won’t be without a car - a bus stop is a 3-minute walk away. Next to the Sheraton hotel is a stunning restaurant serving deer stew with chanterelles and baked freshly caught trout. Within a 10-minute walk, a forest and a lake where you can take a boat for the whole day, arrange fishing and immediately try smoked trout or pike.
It is grown here in special pools. On the lake is another prestigious hotel-castle "Schloss Fuschl"
There is a forest around Lake Fuschl, and there are comfortable walking paths in it. We did not notice how we waved 6 kilometers along the lake to Fuschl am See. In some places you can stop at the sandbanks, refresh yourself with a swim in the lake water, and enjoy the strawberries.
By the way, at the entrance to the village is the headquarters of the Red Bull Company. Now it’s clear why he inspires.
