All the most interesting tourist discoveries happen to me suddenly, when they are least expected. What was Reutte for me? A point on the map is not even known in which country. A place from where it is convenient to visit the famous Bavarian castles. Indeed, in Fussen and Schwangau in the season of decent housing can not be found. Increasing the search to 20 kilometers from the desired point, I got Reutte. Then I didn’t care. The plans were only to visit Neuschwanstein, preferably in non-tourist times, for which you need to live nearby.
After returning to my reservation after some time, I was surprised to find that, firstly, the city of Reutte is in another country, not in Germany, but in Austria. (For motorists, this is of great importance - when crossing the invisible border you need to buy a vignette). And secondly, there is a certain bridge, which everyone in the reviews endlessly talks about as a local curiosity and main attraction.
After such a miracle, I got sick of Neuschwanstein :) No, of course, I did not cancel it, but the program was substantially adjusted. In the afternoon, we will quickly go to visit Ludwig of Bavaria, and we will devote evening and morning to exploring the local beauty.
Having settled in a hotel under the mountain, having thrown things and had dinner at a local restaurant, I went for reconnaissance. She was not going to go to the bridge, she didn’t even take the money and did not buy a ticket. So, I went to see what's what. But the universe had plans for me.
In the gathering sevens I climbed the mountain, admiring the bewitching landscapes.
And here I am at the bridge!
An English-speaking man came up to me and offered to buy a ticket from him, because his wife (nod to the lady trembling on the bench) was afraid to go. Yes, I’m not with the money today, I’m answering :) But wait a minute, maybe something was lying around in the case from the camera :) And for sure, I scraped up almost the right amount!
And here I am on the bridge! I'm not a timid, but scary! More afraid to drop the phone or fotik. Hips shake when you take your first steps. Yet the height is 114.6 meters! You need to go 406 meters.
And the earth is so far below.
I admire the castle of Ehrenberg, repeating with its outlines the mountains surrounding it.
Although it is difficult to call it a full-fledged castle. So, the ruins. Someone once lived in them, someone guarded something. Surely a certain ruined small-local nobleman, not excessively boasted of the antiquity of the clan. Uninteresting. Such thoughts visited me at that moment ...
In the meantime, it was finally dark and let the rain fall. And I rushed home.
The early morning was fresh and sunny. Nothing reminded of yesterday's rain. After breakfast and buying tickets at the vending machine (9 euros / pc), we all began to go upstairs. The sunlit surroundings delighted much more than yesterday's twilight.
Locals also enjoyed life. Then I jumped the bridge dancing :) He wanted to shoot endlessly! Ehrenberg Castle shone in the sun in all its splendor.
Or is he hiding something? Maybe he’s ready to tell us something? And you just need to hear?
We will now go there and try to listen to his story. But the walls cannot speak. And numerous tablets told only about the year in which this or that wall or tower was built. It's boring. But we will try to get to the truth! Let's try to find out what the ancient walls are silent about!
The tragic events, the main scene of which was distant Russia, slightly touched the local deaf and places lost in the mountains. And everything turned out, as it usually happens, by accident. But it was like that.
In the fall of 1715, Tsarina Ekaterina Alekseevna gives birth to another heir to the throne - Peter Petrovich Romanov. This fact gave Peter I the opportunity to present an ultimatum to Tsarevich Alexei. The need for which, before the appearance of the second son, if not absent, did not make much sense. Alex did not want to study, to take part in government affairs, to fight, to render his father any help in his great achievements. To all this, he preferred to walk and get drunk, by hook or by crook avoiding any serious occupations. With the advent of the second heir, Peter got a choice and the possibility of presenting an ultimatum, the essence of which was as follows: either, son, grasp your mind or lose your throne.
There was no threat, there was only the despair of a parent who could not rely on his child! A desperate call to take up the mind and show even the slightest interest in public affairs. Alexey answered very quickly: “If you please deprive me of the inheritance of the Russian crown for my indefensibility, please be your will. I ask you, sovereign, to lower your heart: I still see myself to this matter is inconvenient and indecent, but I’m completely deprived of memory smart and bodily (from various diseases) weakened and obscene, he began to rule a great people, where he requires a person who is not as rotten as I am."
