Huawei has unsheathed its two new smartphones: the Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro.
The further we go, the more Huawei accelerates the announcement of its new smartphones from the Mate range, intended for innovation. A few years ago, Huawei was waiting for the month of November to announce its new Mate but this time is over. This year is September 19, 2019 that Huawei has decided to draw his two new smartphones and this, along with the launch of the new Apple iPhone 11 or the Samsung Galaxy Fold. It must be said that the sector is more than congested with the arrival in a few weeks of new smartphones Oppo or OnePlus. In any case, here are the Mate30 and Mate30 Pro.
As with every ad, it's the Pro model that is likely to get all the attention. But for some time, whether for the P or Mate range, it will not be too much to ignore the "non-Pro" model, more traditional but value for money more interesting. Last March, the P30 Pro had made an impression with a design inspired by the very successful Samsung Galaxy S. The new Mate30 and Mate30 Pro continue in this line so that there will not necessarily be very big differences with the Mate20 last year or the P30 at the beginning of the year. The most significant differences will be on the screen that goes up to the back but also on the photo block, round this time said Halo Ring taking its inspiration from camera lenses. And finally, we will always note the presence of a notch incorporating a 3D facial recognition and a new gesture sensor.
No Google Mobile Services
Before entering into the technical details of these new Mate30, it is necessary to specify several things concerning its launch. Indeed, this is not new, the Mate30 have not received a Google certification. Also, this simply means that GMS or Google Mobile Services will not be available for the moment on Mate30. This is typical Google applications. Suddenly, Huawei now offers its HMS or Huawei Mobile Services that will make the applications that would eventually use GMS compatible with Mate30.
It is for this reason that Huawei communicated at the end of its conference on its AppGallery and the presence, already, of several tens of thousands of applications (570 Million users per month and more than 45,000 applications integrating HMS natively). For accuracy and simplicity also, the Mate30 runs under EMUI 10 with an Android 10 base but without the Google Mobile Services. If they are well announced, we do not know yet when they will be available in Europe but Huawei France has confirmed, they will come out well in Europe, with or without Google Mobile Services.
Now, we prefer to tell you right away, without these Google apps and without a clear vision of what Huawei is preparing for the future, we do not really know which way to dance.
The screen
The Huawei P30 Pro offers an impressive Horizon Display screen that goes up to the edge of the slice, so you do not have side screen edges. Note also high and low screen edges of only 4.2mm and 4.8mm.

The screens support the DCI-P3 and reduce the blue light by -25%. Because the side edges are almost non-existent on the Mate30 Pro, Huawei has introduced a new technology, Side-Touch Interaction, which allows you to tap on the edges to launch functions. Typically, a double-tap on one of the edges starts the volume control and you just have to slide your thumb to increase or decrease the volume.
