7 questions about the exam that concern parents

Hello! You are on the channel All or nothing, thanks for reading me! Glad to see you and enjoy reading!

The article is subjective and expresses the personal opinion of the author.

When to start preparing for the exam?

Indeed, two years before graduation, a year? Maybe you should not overload the child and begin to prepare intensively in the year of delivery?

I want to say that there is no universal answer. It all depends on the initial training of the student, his desire to pass the exam for high scores and motivation. The determining factor is the remaining time before exams. It needs to be planned so that the child has time to cover all the educational material, sorted out complex topics and at the same time studied in a relaxed atmosphere.

The best time to start classes is grade 10. The schoolboy has already become acquainted with the structure of the exam at the OGE and knows his weaknesses. In two years, indicators and the quality of knowledge can be significantly improved.

However, you should not think that starting training six months before the exam is pointless and late. Here the main success factor is not the time spent, but the quality of the classes and how well the teacher knows how to “put” knowledge into the student’s head. From our practice: there were graduates who began to actively prepare four months before the exams and raised their level from 27 to 74 points.

Of course, much depends on desire. We do not force anyone to receive high scores and enter prestigious universities. This is, first of all, the choice of the student himself - and your first priority as a parent: to increase his motivation.

Is it possible to prepare for the exam yourself?

Guidelines are in the public domain. Therefore, yes, you can prepare and achieve excellent results.

Of course, this option is suitable only for strong students who have no problems with self-organization and mastering of the material. If a child is studying “excellent” and is patiently preparing for the USE, then most likely he will succeed.

But the main disadvantage of training alone is the lack of an additional incentive. There are always classes that you want to switch to, postpone preparation for 15 minutes, for an hour, for tomorrow. Friends are distracting. Social networks.

In this regard, any training outside the home will be more effective - it disciplines even those with tight discipline. This, by the way, doesn’t really depend on academic performance - a smart student with good grades can easily experience problems with self-organization.

Are school electives enough to successfully pass the exam?

Generally not. As I already said, the discipline of such collective exercises can be strengthened, but the approach has a very serious drawback. Called: spraying attention.

If this is an elective, for example, in physics (they don’t pass as often as Russian, mathematics or social studies) and two or three people from all graduating classes attend it, then most likely the teacher will be able to work with the weaknesses of each student individually. And those will have time to ask questions and get answers to them.

But there is one more minus of school preparation for the USE - it is not in the interest of teachers to “squeeze” the strongest students to super-good results. It is in the school’s interests to pull up the weakest so that everyone “crosses” the threshold on the exam.

But it’s worth looking at the passing scores of the most “major” universities in the country to understand that simply an excellent result will often not be enough. We need a great result.

How effective is private tutoring?

Individual lessons are needed if there are serious knowledge gaps. The tutor will not only help to catch up with the material, but will also prepare for the exam, taking into account the latest changes in CMMs. Behind him are dozens of students who have already passed the exams.

The disadvantages of classes with private tutors are floating on the surface:

  1. The need to find a tutor for each subject. Parents are usually guided by the advice of friends and other parents. In a situation where you need to start training as soon as possible, the search for teachers takes precious time.
  2. Tight tutoring schedule. Good tutors are worth their weight in gold, which is why they line up for them. This leads, firstly, to the fact that you may simply not get to the desired teacher. And, secondly, it affects the quality of classes - a school teacher who, after two bids, also leads courses, to put it mildly, gets tired.
  3. Geographical remoteness. Few people are guided by the place of residence of the tutor - the main thing is that the exam results are the best. As a result, the student has to pretty much run around the city, he spends half the time in the subway.

Another drawback, which we partially discussed earlier, is that the child does not feel responsibility to the group. If with the same school courses in this regard everything is better - you don’t want to let your classmates down, then with a tutor there is always a temptation to postpone classes.

Does it make sense in university courses?

University classrooms accommodate far more students than classrooms. This is their main drawback - the attention of students is scattered even more, and the teacher simply can not physically work with everyone. He does not set himself such a goal.

Classes are held by university teachers - the lecturer reads the material, but does not check its assimilation. In such classes, the most likely questions of the USE are analyzed, however, the student will need additional time for their independent study and preparation for exams in general.

Another drawback is the inflexibility of such a training system. If the student, for some good reason, missed one or two classes, you will have to study the material yourself.

How are classes in specialized preparatory courses?

In the courses, you can improve knowledge in any subject - both compulsory and optional. The timetable is compiled taking into account the child’s workload at school and travel time - thus, not the student is 100% adjusted to the circumstances, but the course system itself is trying to help him. Still, graduates have a hard time without it.

Classes are conducted by experienced tutors in small groups, so the cost of training is lower than that of individual lessons. In addition, this makes it possible to work with each student individually - something that “mass” courses at educational institutions cannot boast of.

Another important point that we consider to be our advantage is that you can join the group and “catch up” with material at any time (we work the entire academic year, from early September to late May).

Classes are held in groups of up to six people - this is the optimal amount for the teacher to pay attention to everyone. One lesson lasts three academic hours (135 minutes). During this time, the tutor manages to explain a new topic, and schoolchildren - to fix it in the decision KIMov.

How to check the quality of knowledge gained?

Nobody would like to give a lot of money for tutoring, and then after passing the test exam to find out that the classes did not give the desired effect.

Schools have one mock exam - but this approach is not indicative enough. Therefore, we at Lancman School conduct them every month. Our students “get their hands on” in solving tests and feel calm in this exam. We see progress from exam to exam and, as a rule, our students show their best results at the exam.

Good luck to all! Although not, only those who do not work on themselves rely on luck. Therefore: let your children do, seek and do where they dreamed. Do not worry, they will succeed.
