I really like the theme of illusions and most of us live that way. Here is the simplest example. Now many schools for training in business information in various fields have opened. Who does not know the information business is an information business based on the knowledge that is sold (language schools, consulting companies, copywriting schools, etc.). It’s as if there is and not to feel it. So, it so happens that a person had an idea to go to one of the schools to study and he is 100% sure that when he graduates and becomes a megaprofi, he will immediately take a leading position in the market and begin to earn a million. But in reality, he gets completely disappointed that everything that he thought and dreamed of “was covered with a copper basin”. He believed only his guesses, not having studied the material in detail: without strategy, logic and clarity of thinking. This error is an illusion.
Let me show you another example related to work. A person wants to change his current state of affairs so much that he frantically seeks work, and when he receives an invitation to an interview, he is overwhelmed with confidence that he will pass it and they will take him, he is so cool! And here he lies and sees: a workplace, a large corporation, everyone respects him, money pours themselves ... But it wasn’t there, a feeling of bitterness comes when he receives a letter of refusal to the post office. Everything, his world collapsed at that moment. And only he is guilty, having made a reckless mistake that he went about his illusions.
WHAT ARE ILLUSIONS FOR US AT ALL, WHAT IS THE BENEFIT, WHAT IS THE HARM?
The ability of illusions is to return us to reality, but only after bitterness passed. And this lesson will be repeated until a person understands and stops this wheel. Their role is to solve some problem that causes controversial emotions in us. You know, this is very similar to a situation where a person is alarmed and fussing, trying to solve his problem. Some kind of brain violence, I would say. So the brain is forced to throw up these illusory plans in order to make life easier and calm down. You guessed it, illusions compensate for tension, anxiety, anxiety. And then a person will be able to resolve the topic of his concern - uncertainty. And the state of uncertainty is very destroying and exhausting, so this compensation is justified.
If a person is anxious, then he seeks solace in the illusions, because they help his psyche to relieve tension.
WHAT TYPES OF ILLUSIONS HAPPEN?
Emotional illusions that are most often associated with fear. For example, if we walk in the park during the daytime and don’t think about anything, then in the evening this park turns into a living monster. Now everyone has imagined this “evening park” for himself. It may seem that because of the bushes someone is peering out and you can see his image. To dissipate these mirages, you just need to look at the object that scares you. But in most cases we do not succumb to our minds and in the grip of illusions we shake with fear.
From childhood, every summer I came to the sea to my grandparents, I have friends there, with whom we walked until late at night, and then I returned home in the dark. At that time there was not enough street lighting. So, all the people who seemed to me to be sitting in the bushes and want to grab, made my walk a nightmare. Since then, my friends have accompanied me home.
Illusions of attention - they are intertwined with emotional, because they are associated with emotions. These mirages cause two conditions: increased and decreased attention.
- Increased attention is the expectation of something beyond what is significant for us: news, an offer, a call ... and the illusion that we are confident in receiving it.
- Reduced attention is a state of wild fatigue when, instead of “a book, we see a fig” and we read another word instead of one.
Pareidolic illusions, they can be traced. If you look at the carpet with a picture and start to see faces, animals or something else interesting there, then this is a sign of your imagination.
A carpet hung in my children's room, and I always noticed the same pattern on it - the knights around the fire. Although my brother did not notice anything like this. Such illusions occur in people with developed imagination.
Very often in films the illusions of a person are shown when he hears what he wants or is afraid to hear. In the work of Lolita by Nabokov. Humbert brings Lolita to the hotel at night, it rains, the lantern bursts - the atmosphere is heating up, Humbert distantly hears the stranger's voice: "How did you get it?" He asks: "Excuse me?" “The rain has stopped,” the stranger says. And further in the conversation, Humbert says: "She is my daughter." “You're lying, not a daughter,” he answers again, he asks again. “The rain has stopped,” the stranger says.
Our illusions are not true, you need to ground yourself sometimes, include logic, mind and clarity of thinking. But do not get rid of them for good, because they warm our soul and give at least some hope. But do not recklessly fall into dreams, leaving reality, because landing can be very tough!
