WHY NOT EVERYTHING THAT SAY IN ADVERTISING IS TRUE?

Hello! You are on the Free Opinion channel, thanks for reading me! Every positive and kind comment warms my soul!
The article is subjective and expresses the personal opinion of the author.

The fastest laptop, game console at half the price, exchanging an old tablet for a new one ... What tricks do sellers not go to if only you buy their goods. After all, the purpose of advertising is to arouse interest in the product and sell it. How to distinguish where advertising tricks, and where is the truth? Let's try to figure it out.

Minimum price

Often in advertising you can see: "the lowest prices for mobile phones", "you will not find cheaper", "discount!". The price is what you look at first, so sellers so often talk about the best price. True, they do not always agree that this is the lowest price in this store, and is sold cheaper in the next.

TIP: Near the words about the "lowest price" is often an inconspicuous "asterisk" or figure. Look for clarification on the advertisement through your eyes. In small print below or on the side, it can be written that this is the lowest price in this store or the price is only when buying a second product.

Take it now, pay later!

Tricks are used when selling goods on credit. For example, in household appliance stores, loans for goods at 0% are popular. It would seem like good: you come to the store for a mobile phone for which there is not enough money, and now, please, it is yours. Take the phone at 0%, no overpayment. Tempting “0%” may not be so profitable - it can only be a down payment or the 0% rate is valid only in the first month, and if you take a consumer loan for a gadget for 12 months, you will pay the remaining 11 months, for example, 30% per annum.

TIP: When buying goods on credit, remember that the main thing for the seller is to make sure that you do not leave without a purchase. Therefore, when concluding a contract, be sure to read it in its entirety and ask for an explanation of what is incomprehensible. Often, bankers know that buyers do not like to read contracts, so they hide important points inside long texts written in a small inconvenient font. But, from the point of view of the law, it does not matter whether you understood what you are signing or not. Therefore, never agree to put your signature on documents that you don’t understand.

"The most-most" product

Often in advertisements there are such words as “the tastiest tea”, “the best phone”, “the most productive laptop”, “the smartest robot”. How not to succumb to such epithets, and not buy the “most-most” product? Firstly, such words as “the most”, “best”, “first”, “main” are prohibited in advertising, this is a violation of the law. Secondly, under such epithets, stale, stale goods that the store has been trying to sell for a long time can “hide”. Thirdly, the word "most" can also hide our old familiar "asterisk", and the small print will indicate "according to 20 participants in the test." And it will not be illegal, but these 20 people can get for comparison the goods that they considered "the most" and another, obviously weak. For example, if you give carrots and potatoes for testing, then carrots will win in the category “sweetest product”, but we know that sweets are definitely sweeter.

TIP: Do not rely on the assurances of the sellers in the store and the messages in the advertisement, but look for the reviews of independent experts on the Internet. There are quite a few people who check and test products that publish honest reviews on their sites. Also, there are sites with reviews from customers and users. If goods are rated good there, then you can safely take it.

Very useful product

Health is what people are willing to pay for. That is why manufacturers are so fond of talking about the benefits, naturalness of products, although this is not always true. For example, the yogurt label says about beneficial lactobacilli, but there is not a word about sugar, which is a lot in this yogurt. Or on TV is a commercial for vegetable oil without cholesterol, which it can’t be. Will advertising be cunning?

Visual illusion

When raw materials rise in price, producers are forced to raise the price of goods. But there is an option to leave it the same, putting a little less in the same package. For example, pour 900 ml into a liter (in appearance) bottle of milk. Or in a familiar bar of chocolate per 100 grams it can be only 80. And so on. Moreover, this is not a hoax with weight, the package will say "weight 80 grams". We are just so used to the fact that certain things are sold in certain portions that we do not always read the label.

TIP: When buying, especially products, pay attention to how much the package weighs. Sometimes it happens that a cheap product actually costs the same, or even more expensive than others. It’s just that it’s very small in a big box so that you don’t notice.

Any information in advertising is best checked. After all, a good seller will even sell air. But do you have to pay for such a product?
