Hello! You are on the channel All or nothing, thanks for reading me! Glad to see you and enjoy reading!

Until October 1, 2019, all universities are required to publish 2020 admission rules on their sites. Graduates have a little more than 5 months left to decide on the choice of exam for the summer of 2020, because they must write applications for participation in the exam by February 1. “RIA Novosti” does a lot for graduates, their project “Navigator of the applicant” is an excellent help for everyone who wants to enter universities.
Over the course of the year, I will share with you many times the tips on preparing for the exam, but today I want to summarize the tips and recommendations of the leaders of leading higher educational institutions of the country. I really hope that this will help you easily and consciously choose an alma mater.
Participants of the round table "Admission to universities 2020: what is important for applicants to know about the results of the 2019 campaign":
- Vice-Rector of NRNU MEPhI Elena Vesna;
- Vice-Rector of RANEPA Maxim Nazarov;
- Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs NITU "MISiS" Vadim Petrov;
- Vice-Rector of the National Research University "MIET" for International Activities and Youth Affairs Dmitry Kovalenko;
- First Vice-Rector of the Moscow State Pedagogical University Andrey Milekhin;
- Executive Secretary of the Admissions Committee of Moscow State Pedagogical University Evgeny Tatarintsev;
- Vice-Rector for Public Relations N.I. Lobachevsky Nikita Avralev.
1. Graduates who chose the Unified State Exam in 2019 became hostages to the budget deficit situation
In 2019, the exam in social studies passed 315,000 graduates, while all of them could apply for only 40% of budget places this year (of the total). The most popular areas in 2019 were the following areas: medicine, economics, the media, international relations. Competition - more than 14 people per budget place. Such a large-scale competition is connected precisely with the fact that in these areas (with the exception of medicine, perhaps) points are needed precisely in social studies. Such competition among those who passed the exam in social studies gives the chances of getting a free place for only a small percentage of graduates, despite even good results. In the top universities, only those applicants who have 90+ in the USE enter the budget. If the results are lower, then there is an opportunity to enter budget places in regional universities, but then there is the question of moving, which does not suit everyone.
2. Vice-rector of MEPhI: if you want to enroll in MEPhI - get involved in university education and training programs as early as possible
A lot of guys began to come in - participants in various competitions. These motivated applicants greatly increased the average exam score. 95% of the students who entered the MEPhI in 2019 on a budget are those who went through the university system of training (full-time and distance).
At NRNU MEPhI, up to 20 people in a place grew a competition in engineering specialties. The average exam score in this area is also constantly growing. MEPhI has 17 units in the regions, and strong applicants who have not passed the budget competition in the capital are always recommended to submit documents to MEPhI branches. In our units in Sarov and Snezhinsk, for example, scientists from nuclear centers teach. This is a good choice if you do not have enough points.
3. Vice-Rector of RANEPA: education is an investment in oneself, so many choose complex training programs
Deliberate income every year more and more noticeable. Applicants began to choose fewer universities and areas of study. This is a clear trend - this year there have been fewer throwings. Finally, many still at the stage of choosing a university and direction began to watch curricula. We also noticed that the demand for more complex programs is increasing annually. We have a large request for a multidisciplinary undergraduate.
4. Vice-rector of MISiS: a university is not only a social elevator, and sometimes a horizontal transfer
The average exam score in MISiS increased by 6 points. The growth in the country is 1.4. This year, our strategy for attracting talented graduates worked. The modern applicant has not only become more conscious about the choice of university and direction: many really think about where they will work after university. Be sure to pay attention to ratings and studies showing the average salaries of graduates of certain universities. Moving applicants to study in other cities is not so critical. Horizontal transfer is, in my opinion, good. Transfers to other programs or to another university, moving in space - all this is quite normal for a student.
5. Vice-rector of the UNN them. N. I. Lobachevsky: universities of the project "5-100" give a large influx of regional applicants in our university
We at UNN also noticed an increase in the USE score - this is plus 3 points. The university does not prepare for the exam, but our task is to help us to choose our profession in a motivated manner starting from the 1st grade. A big request from children and parents is not for classic open house days, but for real design and research work. UNN has full-fledged laboratories for schoolchildren. Advice to schoolchildren and parents: participate in olympiads, contests as early as possible, do not confine yourself to passing three examinations. If you choose 4 exams, the range of directions for admission immediately expands.
There are graduates who do not fit into the exam format - purely “project” guys. Their units, of course. They can badly pass the exam, but are worthy of budget places. Some universities prefer to educate such children at their own expense.
6. Vice-rector of Moscow State Pedagogical University: in order to study as a psychologist with us, we must pass specialized mathematics, the Russian language and biology
Moscow universities are very helpful in finding talented graduates of University Saturdays. Be sure to tell schoolchildren about the Atlas of New Professions. I agree with my colleague that we must fight for those same “project” guys who, perhaps, do not pass the USE very well, but at the same time they can formulate hypotheses, they are seekers. They can become breakthrough locomotives of science.
Preprofile classes and preprofile exams are an excellent Moscow practice that needs to be developed and expanded.
7. Vice-Rector of MIET: Russian education is becoming increasingly popular among applicants from the CIS and Asia
Technical universities also have a steady trend: graduates began to consciously choose a university and a profession. The second trend: Russian education is very popular with foreign students. Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan - countries that have an agreement with Russia. And applicants from these countries also have the opportunity to enter budget places, therefore, competition in this regard is only growing. This worries the parents, since actually talented foreign applicants “take” places from Russian graduates, but it’s not worth jealous. This is a good trend: if foreign students choose Russian universities, then this raises the status of our higher education.
8. Executive Secretary of the Admissions Committee of Moscow State Pedagogical University: targeted training is no longer a loophole
A change in legislation has made the target set competitive. In general, you need to understand: competition for admission to universities will only increase. The higher education system is selection, and this must be understood. Leading universities are interested in recruiting the most motivated and trained.
