The Samsung Galaxy S10 range. All you need to know.

Hello! You are on the Free Opinion channel, thanks for reading me! Every positive and kind comment warms my soul!
The article is subjective and expresses the personal opinion of the author.

So, it’s official. You’ll probably see three in most stores over the next few months though, and they are the S10e, the S10 and the S10+.

In addition there’s the Galaxy S10 5G, which will be coming when we’ve all got a 5G signal.

So, let’s have a look at the key features before we come back and detail each model. That Dynamic AMOLED Display has, inside of it, a fingerprint scanner. However, it’s the first ultrasonic fingerprint scanner. An ultrasonic wave will be sent to the screen, instead of normal fingerprint scanning and it’s said to be a lot more reliable and accurate than the other in-display scanners you’ve seen. Machine-learning algorithms can detect if a fake fingerprint is being tried, and there’s vault-like security thanks to biometric cleverness.

The dynamic AMOLED display is, as mentioned, makes the S10 the first HDR10+ certified smartphone. You’ll get brighter colours, a wider range and better tone mapping. Deeper blacks and brighter whites.

The screen also, when you put the S10 next to the S9, gives you more real estate that the S9.

The S9 and, on the right, the S10

Around back, there’s a next-generation “pro-grade triple camera”. Samsung also tell me that a “Neural Processing Unit” ensures that you get professional shots. You basically have the right lens for every situation.

There’s also digital stabilisation technology for smooth video footage with UHD quality from both the front and rear cameras.

Wireless charging is here and, on the S10+, you get the ability to share your charge – pushing your power to other devices. You basically have a portable charging matt. Oh, and talking about power there’s now AI to automatically optimises your battery. It’ll mean longer usage time because the CPU, RAM and the device temperature is controlled by the phone and the brain inside.

Bixby is here, but to be honest I tuned out at that point. But it does now support BRITISH ENGLISH! YAAAAAAAAAAAAYYY!!!

Oh, and here’s the advert you’ll be watching over the next few months…

Pricing? Well, the Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10+ and Galaxy S10e are on sale from March 8th – the Galaxy S10e is, as expected, the cheapest at £669. The Galaxy S10 is £799 and the Galaxy S10+ is £899. If you pre-order an S10 or S10+ then you’ll also be able to claim some Galaxy Buds worth £139.
