What is English fishing and what are its origins?
English fishing (also known as bolognese fishing in other countries), commonly known as so, is nothing more than a style of a fishing coup with the reel. It is a modality where white fish of considerable size are obtained. In particular, it is a type of sport fishing, carried out with a lot of styles. With this, you can get species such as carps or breams with considerable ease if we make a comparison with other gear. It is a modality exercised mainly by people who are engaged in carp-fishing or carp fishing.
English style fishing can be carried out at all times in the waters, both at sea and in rivers, lakes, reservoirs ... Even so, carrying out this type of fishing at sea causes us some inconveniences, as the current and the nearby areas of rock can spoil entire days. If our vafer sinks, we can end the activity, hence, it is much more conducive to port scenarios or calm waters, although, as we say, the modality can be practiced at convenience.
We have two ways of fishing in the English way:
On the one hand, there is the assembly with fixed float, where you can make the connection with the east on its own ring or with an emerillón.
This type is practiced in shallow areas, between approximately two and three meters.
On the other hand, there is the assembly with a continuous float, for which a knot is placed that creates a kind of stop that can be moved over the line to adjust the depth that interests us at all times. This type of assembly is used in areas of greater depth. With it, it is avoided, in addition, that the set has an excess of the line that remains hanging and without using, becoming even inconvenient.
What materials do we use to fish the English way?
The material or equipment to be used is made up of different pieces, which are listed below.
Fishing rod
This must-have three sections or you can opt for a telescopic rod. Its length will vary between 3.6 and 4.2 meters. It must also have several rings so that the launch is much greater and the friction with the line is as minimal as possible in each case.
For anglers starting out in this world, a semi-parabolic action rod is recommended, but for those with more experience, it is best to use a point action rod.
Reel
Be careful with the specifications that must meet the reel for the English fishing. This must be light, with a good speed for recovery and a brake that will take effect progressively. This can be either front or rear, depending on the comfort the angler wants. You must make a perfect rod accompaniment and have bearings that offer us a very soft pick-up.
Coil

Fishing line
The line must be suitable for this type of fishing, being easy to slide. In addition, it must have little elasticity and have a treatment that resists perfectly the rubbing with the rings at the moment of the set. The diameter should be between 11 and 16/100.
To buy a good line is very important due to the variety that exists in the market; not all of them serve, not even from far and this point is perhaps the one that requires greater precision.
Floats
Wagglers or floats for this mode you must use the known wagglers or floats, selecting one model or another depending on whether or not there will be current.
To cast, a cast must be made without too much effort, so that the fishing line is very tense on the surface of the water. Always remember that the fishing float will always be propelled much farther than a normal hook. When the fish is caught, it should be nailed to the side using the rod.
Bait
The bait we use must be sticky. For example, we usually use the English Gooster, which if mixed with live worms has a greater effect. It is recommended to prepare bags of this bait the size of an orange, mixed at the rate of ¼ of a liter of water for each kilogram of bait. These should be thrown in groups of 5 or 6 to bring the fish closer to our position.

English fishing is not an activity where you want to take extremely large species, but a mass that includes different types on the shores of seas and rivers.
