Rodents
Rodents are quite unassuming to care for and take care of a hamster or mouse, even a small child can do it. Contrary to popular belief, domestic rodents are very clean. They can be easily picked up and ironed (they like it very much). But it's pretty dangerous to let rodents walk around the apartment: they can easily crawl over furniture or move to neighbors through ventilation openings. It's best to keep them in cages or glass aquariums so that they can't get out of their house on their own.
Do not buy hamsters, mice or rats you like in the underpasses and near the subway. If you're not a specialist, you could be deceived and sold by a sick animal. Rodents are carriers of many diseases that are dangerous to humans, so it is advisable to buy them in specialized markets or at a pet store.
Turtle
If a child asks "well, at least someone alive," and you're not ready to buy a cat or dog (let alone a white mouse), buy a turtle. Some believe that turtles are boring and more like furniture than a living thing. It's not like that. They're very cute and funny, and land turtles don't require daily care. For its maintenance it is desirable to purchase a special terrarium, but in principle, and a regular cardboard box or a small aquarium, the bottom of which is covered with soil (eg, river sand). If you want to pamper your tortilla, create a small pool in the terrarium (no deeper than the height of its shell) - even land turtles love to swim. Be sure to put some shelter in the turtle house (an inverted bowl, parts of a ceramic pot, etc.) - the turtle should be able to hide entirely. And don't forget to strengthen the lamp above it for heating (turtles don't tolerate cold).
Turtles usually hibernate in winter and freeze until spring, but if you light up and heat her home and feed her fresh vegetables, fruit, cottage cheese and boiled eggs, she's unlikely to fall asleep. A turtle I know hasn't had a hibernation in three years and feels great. And when the mistress was forced to leave for two weeks on a business trip, the tortoise forgotten by her husband fell asleep. Upon returning from a business trip, a friend of mine decided that her husband starved the turtle and she died. She cried for days and then called the vet. Turns out the tortilla just fell asleep. Two months later, she woke up as if nothing had happened and continued her slow movement through the apartment. By the way, after that time, that turtle never went to sleep again.
In the warm season, when the temperature outside is at least 25 degrees Celsius, be sure to walk your turtle. The sunbathing is very useful to her.
The inhabitants of the aquarium
Of course, unlike other animals, you can't touch them, but they are very interesting to watch, they can also be named and even talk to them.
The main drawback of fish is that they're demanding. If a cat or dog can adapt to almost any conditions, you will have to create special conditions for the fish and strictly follow all the rules for their care, otherwise they will just refuse to live in your aquarium and a few days later will float up the belly. To prevent this from happening, first choose the most unpretentious breeds living in fresh water (catfish, guppies, sword-bearers, mollis).
When choosing an aquarium, you should give preference to the biggest one you can afford. Of the additional equipment you need first of all the following: A special device for measuring water temperature, filtration, oxygen enrichment, sand, fine pebbles and plants (they maintain biological balance in the aquarium). Place the aquarium away from direct sunlight and draughts. Of course, the parents will have to take care of the aquarium (monitor the temperature, add water, wash and clean it). And babies can be trusted to feed their fish (just remember to remove excess food).
