With the development of the system, individuals will be able to pay for goods and services in one click, not only directly to the supplier, but also when purchasing goods in vending machines. Any manufacturer or supplier will be able to place a QR code at the apparatus, when reading it by means of a mobile bank the buyer will get all the necessary information about the goods, will pay for the purchase and will automatically receive an electronic check. It will directly influence the decrease of the paper document circulation of the bank-acquirers and will also reduce their expenses for maintenance and updating of the software of POS-terminals.
At the payment points it is supposed to use QR codes of two types:
- QR sticker" is intended for micro- and small business, for example, it can be printed and attached next to the POS cash register;
- QR at the checkout" is generated and displayed on the checkout equipment (monitor, POS-terminal, etc.); this code will contain information about the purchased goods.
Pull-mechanics will be available for online stores. For example, after the goods are in the basket, the buyer chooses SBP as the method of payment, enters his mobile phone number, and then in his mobile bank is issued an invoice, which he pays.
Legal entities connected to the SBP will be able to do so:
- ensure instant receipt of funds to their accounts after payment;
- reduce cash gaps;
- Reduce the costs of non-cash payments in comparison with acquiring;
- optimize and reduce the cost of payment processing and accounting processes;
- to provide customers with a simple way of non-cash payment for goods and services without using bank cards.
SBP as a driver of the cashless payments market
Natural persons of SBP are interested first of all in reduction of cost and time of transfer irrespective of banks of the sender and the recipient, convenience and safety of transfer initiation by a simple identifier - phone number.
It should be noted that SBP allows making transfers not only between card accounts, but also, in principle, between any bank accounts. The only exception is a transfer from a credit account: since such an account does not involve the management of own funds but rather of borrowed ones, the transfer from it within the framework of the SBP is prohibited.
Making instant payments through SBP directly affects the growth of financial services availability to the public, which leads to the increase of loyalty of clients of SBP member banks. In addition, each transfer complies with the Bank of Russia's information security standards, which increases the level of customer confidence in both the service itself and the banks connected to it.
Among other things, the system of fast payments will solve the problem of the absence of the same bank card sender as the recipient in the future. Often, people prefer to return the borrowed funds to each other in cash, if the transfer participants have cards from different banks and do not want to pay the commission for this operation.
The advent of SBP is, among other things, to facilitate access to financial services for residents of remote areas who are far away from the nearest bank office.
New opportunities
Every year, more and more operations are becoming cashless. However, some people still prefer to pay their loans in bank offices, for example, in order not to overpay for a transfer from another bank.
Retail customers can already use SBP to quickly and free of charge transfer their monthly mortgage and other credit payments to the creditor bank (through a regular transfer from current account to credit account). As the new banks join in, this option will be available to an increasing number of borrowers, which means that it will additionally relieve the bank employees.
The purpose of the fast payment system is to create a maximum number of different and convenient settlement tools for users.
Since the system competes with cash, which, from the point of view of people, is absolutely free of charge, one of the important tasks in the development of SBP is to reduce the cost of transactions.
The possibility of making transfers from any bank to any bank with the help of an ordinary mobile banking application will be able to influence not only the growth of online transactions in Russia, but also the penetration of smartphones and mobile Internet.
For financial institutions, the BPS is about reducing cash handling costs, real-time settlements, increasing average balances per customer, increasing customer satisfaction and increasing transaction turnover.
