When I packed my clinic bag 2.5 years ago, I was very nervous. I googled a lot and asked my girlfriends what I should definitely pack with, but nowhere is written. I collected "insider tips". My midwife also gave me some advice or even a complete list of things to take to the hospital. So I started a few weeks before because it was my first pregnancy and I wanted to be prepared. I like it when some of my head lists can be worked off. And besides, I had the feeling that my daughter would rather be on her way. That's how it ended up.
Where do I start?
I collected everything on the already built changing table, which seemed important to me. And then I added things that I thought I might need them there (like a book or music, but I think I took these things home unadorned). Then I put everything in the clinic bag and put it in the cupboard.
After a few days, I looked at the content again and exchanged a few details. What should you take with you? After all, I did not really know what to expect. And how should I know what the weather should be like on our discharge day? So I preferred to play it safe and packed up for all eventualities.
But I can promise you, you really do not need that much. The hospital already has a lot of things ready for you and your baby. But I would not want to do without many personal things, so we have put together 2 lists for you.
And since our editor Poupette is very pregnant and expects her second child in January, the topic is pretty topical with us anyway.
