I am now in the twentieth week of pregnancy and so slowly we start writing lists of names. Did you do that too? We wish every child. One with the boy's name and one with maiden name.
And of course, I look in the first name lists. What are the popular first names? Do I want that at all? Or do I want an extraordinary name for my child? It is difficult. Especially the third child. And in Berlin? What did it look like in 2016? Was there a difference to the year before? I once compared.
For the girls, Hannah was definitely driven from first to fourth place. For that, Emilia, Emma, and Mia have slipped up. Otherwise, there are no big differences from the previous year. Many L-names and Mila have pretty much slipped to the top. Compared to the rest of Germany, there are above-average numbers of Charlottes and Miras. And the first baby, born in Berlin in 2017, is Yosef.
There are already some shifts in the boys. From first place and from the top ten completely disappeared is Finn. Noah has also slipped down. Jonas has pushed himself completely to the top. And there are probably above average number of Oskars and Theodore in Berlin.
Oh, and in Germany, Mia and Ben are still in 1st place. Funny, I do not know so many of them.
