Coconut oil is probably the most cult natural beauty product and for many it is the most favorite oil for face, hair, and body. It is used both for beauty at home and on the beach on vacation, ayurveda ayurveda ayurveda ayurveda and those who advocate for scientific progress and innovation in cosmetology. A versatile soldier who seems to be able to cope with any problem. But is it really true?
I have tested 17 popular beauty recipes, where the main ingredient is coconut oil, and now I can responsibly share my REAL reviews on the use of coconut oil at home, and also tell you how to choose the right coconut oil, because its quality will largely depend on the impressions.
Use and harm of coconut oil
Coconut oil is a vegetable oil, which is obtained from copra (from dried oily coconut pulp). Until the 21st century, this oil was traditionally used in soap-making, cosmetics and margarine production.
Use of coconut oil
This oil not only has a recognizable and very pleasant delicate taste and aroma, but is also rich in calcium, phosphorus, as well as vitamins A, C and E, useful for beauty and youth. Э
And the main thing is that coconut oil contains a lot of the most valuable fatty acids, which cause miraculous properties of this product
Lauric acid - 39-54% - in the body this acid is converted into monolaurine, which actively combats pathogenic bacteria and fungi, promotes tissue regeneration and heals damage.
Myristinic acid - 15-23% - promotes absorption of useful substances by the skin
Oleic acid - 9% - helps the skin retain moisture
Palmitoyin acid - 10%
Caprylic acid - 6% - normalizes the acid-alkaline balance of the skin
linolenic acid - 3%
Stearic acid - 5%
Capric acid - 5-10 % - supports lauric acid and enhances its antibacterial effect.
Coconut oil has no cholesterol and is therefore recommended for people at risk of developing cardiovascular diseases. In addition, fatty acids in the product increase the level of "good" cholesterol and reduce the level of "bad" cholesterol, also have an antioxidant effect, and this reduces the likelihood of vascular and heart diseases.
Coconut oil increases immunity, and with regular use reduces the likelihood of cancer and restores the function of the thyroid gland.
Damage to coconut oil
The damage to coconut oil has been talked about not so long ago, as I believe, by the super popularity of this product.
It's the same principle that in the yellow press, the news of Brad Pitt is interesting to more people than Uncle Wasi's plumber. And hippanut at the expense of Brad Pitt can be much stronger.
So, in the peak of a large number of supporters, coconut oil simply had to appear scientists-heaters, who, to draw attention to his person, suddenly found "harmful features" of the product, telling everyone that this vegetable oil is extremely harmful and contributes to raising cholesterol levels in the body even more than animal fat. In general, pure poison!
But... Research by other scientists suggests otherwise.
Who to believe? In my opinion, the key point is not to lose common sense and to be guided by your own feelings, if there is an opportunity to completely replace animal fats (the harm from which the bad cholesterol is proven) in the diet with coconut oil, you can try to do just that and compare the cholesterol "before" and "after". Perhaps it is worth a try. The main thing is to respect the sense of proportion, which, however, will work for any SATA product.
How to choose natural coconut oil
In order not to bother and not to experiment - I recommend to go straight away a short way - ie, choose a proven brand in a reliable store.
If you are standing in front of the shelves with coconut oil in an exotic country and see unknown brands, I recommend you to turn to the special signs of natural coconut oil, confirming not only its authenticity, but also high quality.
Transparent glass packaging is the ideal packaging for preserving
Does not contain mineral oil (see the composition, if there will be something written in the composition, and if something will happen, the mineral oil is not exactly the best addition to a natural product).
