I confess, the author is always hit and striking now some unknown, inhuman absurdity of these cries became verbal and semantic character of the pioneers: "Be prepared! - Always ready!"
WHAT are you ready for, Jesus??.. WHAT EXACTLY?.. To EVERYTHING no matter what?!.. (However, the elders tell the author that the call actually sounded more expanded, like this: "Young pioneers! Be ready to fight for the cause of the Communist party!" - "Always ready!")
But there were also Octobrists!.. October groups of these 7-8-year-old children were divided into "stars" (on the principle of the five-pointed red Bolshevik star), and each had its own commander. And groups of Octobrists were led by counselors from among the senior pioneers and Komsomol members. And the general leadership of the pioneer movement was carried out by the all-powerful Central Committee of the Komsomol. (More cynical and unprincipled people than there, the HOOLIGAN, it seems, did not see at all. And God willing, bole will not see...)
I remember in my time in Moscow school No. 113 first refused me to enroll in the pioneers because I have: a) scratched the paint with a fingernail on the Desk; b) in the dining room made the bandwagon classmate Faina Sabitova, why she stretched out on the floor and dropped herself on a tray of mashed potatoes and a chop. (Forgive bastard, Faina!..) And taking the pioneers not just anywhere, but on the Red square...
And there was terrible shame and even quiet sobs in bed. And hiding the truth from your parents. And all because everyone had a beautiful red tie tied around his chest, and the HOOLIGAN - had not.
And now I remember the Holy names of pioneers-heroes (and their exploits) - Pavlik Morozov (child whose name was already odious and absolutely nominal), Marat Kazey, Valia Kotic... Oh my Lord...
But how wonderfully thought-out everything was built!.. This magnificent ideological age chain: Octobrists-pioneers-Komsomol-Communists...
Yes, of course, there was so characteristic of the entire Soviet power structure terrible organization... And suffocation at the root of any, even rudimentary forms of self-government. And there were jokes and anecdotes devoted to the pioneers, often very indecent or simply sadistic. It was all.
In general, now the author and so long already always ready. Absolutely anything he can imagine...
...And I remember here, not very by the way, something classics by Baratynsky written already 200 years ago:
We have no power in ourselves
And in our young years
We make hasty vows,
Funny maybe for all-seeing fate...
