Two movies that I love and two movies that I hate

Everyone has different opinions on different movies, and I want to share mine. I am going to list two examples of GOOD movies, and two examples of BAD movies.

Let’s begin with, perhaps, my favorite movie: the Green Mile. I read the 600+ page book and watched the three- hour movie, and I have to say: both are made in such a way that you never get bored. Both the book and the movie felt, perhaps, three times shorter than they actually were, and both knew how to make you cry. This is probably why the movie is on the list of the 100 best movies on IMDB.

My second favorite spot probably belongs to Inglourious Basterds. If you are one of the very few who do not know about this movie, it is a WW2 movie directed about Quentin Tarantino. The best things about this film are how professionally Tarantino builds up the tension, the satisfying ending, the humor, and Hans Landa. Landa, played by Christopher Waltz, is probably the best character in the movie: so good that he is the glue that holds the movie together. I will not go into too much detail because I do not want to spoil it for those that, for some reason, did not watch it.

Now we are going to talk about bad movies. I am going to talk about Everly first. If you do want to watch this movie, I highly suggest that you forget about the "story", "character" and "acting" parts of movies, because if you do, this movie will highly piss you off. Yes, the action shown in the movie is fun to watch, but it does not make up for the fact that there is absolutely no character development. Probably one of the most annoying parts of the movie is Everly’s daughter because her only use in the movie is to make it more intense by making her get in trouble. This does make the movie more intense when she first appears, but then it becomes just absolutely annoying and makes the movie hard to watch.

And now we are getting to the worst movie on this list: Killing Season. You probably never heard of it. That is most likely due to how terrible it was. I absolutely hate it: the annoying gore, the terrible acting, the bad writing and how it is absolutely boring. I do not even fear spoiling this movie because I do not even want you to watch it anyway. Well, let me sum it up:

A war happened. Veteran 1 shot people in the war. Veteran 2 is angry. Veteran 2 finds Veteran 1. Veteran 1 does not know who Veteran 2 is. Veteran 1 and Veteran 2 become friends. Veteran 2 reveals his identity. Veteran 2 chases Veteran 1 around. Veteran 2 does gory things to Veteran 1. The gory stuff ends because Veteran 1 wins over Veteran 2 in a fight. Veteran 1, for some absolutely stupid reason, forgives Veteran 2. They walk away.

The ending is perhaps the most annoying part of Killing Season. You begin hating Veteran 2 more than any movie character in the world, and then he is released. It absolutely deserves its fate: which is bad reviews and hate from basically everyone who watched it.

Thanks for coming to my TED talk.
