The Male Conservancy: Male Species in Shanghai. Part1

Meet some amazing creatures that inhabit our world and currently reside in Shanghai.

Confused

Lucas was tall, handsome, smart and seemed pretty confident. He was the initiator of the whole 'three-months story'. He had a goal of applying for master's degree in law and then practice it in China. While he was choosing the university and writing the application, he was studying languages, working in a well-known (at least in Shanghai) company, traveling and playing rugby.

However after spending some time together, some sort of uncertainty and hesitation became more evident. He wasn't actually sure what he wanted to do and wasn't undertaking any major action. Moreover all our dates were not going beyond kissing.

After three months, when he called me on a date, and I was ready to meet up, he disappeared. I've waited few hours in case he was busy, fell in asleep, etc. After 2 days he sent me a message telling that he had a conversation with his ex ('they broke up a year ago and she was in another country') and now he's confused. I made few attempts later, but they were in vein.

In short: This might be one of the most dangerous type of men, as women will believe till the end - he will figure it out. Unfortunately, not. If a guy is being confused for more than a month, it's his nature.

Signature phrase: Explanation to nothing more than kissing: 'I don't function like this'.

Out-Of-Town Casanova.

Diego was an extremely attractive men, with a six-pack, tousled hair and an 'innocent look'. He could make a lot of money by teaching pick-up. His compliments, messages, questions could work on many women...BUT! He was always out of town.

Once we had the 'whole texting-night' until 7 a.m. when he went to work. We've discussed every possible topic, including his plans on our date  with deemed light, wine, roses, home-cooked dinner at his apartment with floor to ceiling window, when he will be back .. however he was always on a business trip. Moreover he started asking for some private photos and playing angry, when he wasn't receiving them. So that's when this story had to end.

In short: This kind of guys would probably upset you the least, as you would never meet them. And texting might actually improve your self-confidence (as you'll be receiving tons of messages of how smart, beautiful, hot, etc. you are). So why not for fun?

WARNING: But never send any photos, as you can't be sure where they will go and it will be a green light for him to ask for more.

Signature phrase: 'Tonight you will be my topic for the research'.

King Without a Crown.

Date with Martin was very spontaneous and wasn't going well since the beginning, when I couldn't find the place at night and he didn't even bother to send me the address in Chinese or come and meet me up.  When I eventually made it to the bar, I've discovered that I looked way too good for it..and there was  also another couple (his friends).

The whole evening I've been:

1. Listening to his jokes that were a pure humiliation (considering that I'm totally fine with laughing at myself).

2. Looking at his back, as he wasn't facing me.

3. Listening him talking different language.

After an hour of him keeping this going, I told him that I'd better go home, as clearly he had no interest and (more importantly) any respect to me. Surprisingly he was denying it and his friend admitted that 'That's just how Martin is'.

On top of all this, when his fiends left and I was happy to escape, he pushed me inside the car, giving the address to the driver and telling me not to worry.

When the car stopped, I got out and luckily found another cab.

Cherry on the cake: The whole night he was making up lies about his age, career, education and life in general, hoping that I would believe.

In short: Rude and Spoiled guys, who think they can say and do whatever they want and girls will buy it. Probably while being in a state of affect.

Signature phrase: 'I'm going to your house today, because I want to sleep on the bed. But I'm sleeping on the sofa at my friend's house, since I came to Shanghai'.
