Forza Horizon Rally Expansion Pack Announce

Game changer--that’s what the Forza Horizon Rally Expansion pack is. Coming on December 18 for 1,600 MS points, the Forza Horizon Rally Expansion Pack adds a new element to Horizon’s open road festival driven racing – namely, the thrill and danger of rally racing. With huge jumps, bumps, narrow tree-lined chutes, and turn after turn of sideways sliding, gravel-spitting action, each individual rally course will take time, practice, and skill to master. Like all Forza games the attention to physics and handling make the experience realistic and worthy of hours of play to achieve the perfect stage time. Upon completion each rally stage becomes a Rivals event, so the competition never really ends.

Once you enter the Horizon Rally Championship mode you will experience the thrilling and dangerous world of rally racing. Push your car to its limits, cut corners, and avoid dangerous obstacles – all in the name of setting your best stage time possible. To aid your driving efforts, your co-driver’s calls will alert you to hazards and the nature of upcoming turns.

Ever wonder how a Lamborghini would do in a rally race? With the Rally Expansion Pack you can “rallify” any car in Forza Horizon with rally-specific upgrades to build your own dirt-eating machine. And you’re not stuck to driving just the rally stages either, these same rally upgrades can be used is the rest of Forza Horizon’s Colorado, offering an entirely new range of car performance.

Five new iconic cars of rally racing are included in the Forza Horizon Rally Expansion Pack. Each comes with a rally-tuned suspension, rally tires, a rally drivetrain, and special rally-inspired body part upgrades. If you are a Season Pass holder the Rally Expansion pack is included for free and so is the December exclusive Season Pass bonus car, the 2003 Ford SVT Focus.

The traditional blue and yellow Subaru is nearly synonymous with rally racing. The Subaru World Rally Team has been active since 1980 and has employed a “who’s who” list of rally-driving greats including Ari Vatanen, Colin McRae, and Petter Solberg. The 2005 WRX Sti saw minor interior upgrades over the 2004 version. It is powered by the turbocharged and intercooled 2.5-liter flat-four that cranks out more than 300 horsepower. Subaru’s invincible all-wheel drive system provides grippy traction on any surface.

1982 Lancia 037 Stradale

The words “Group B” will send a chill of excitement down any rally lover’s spine. These cars were so fast they were eventually banned from rally competition. The Lancia 037 Stradale represents the last of the RWD cars to be competitive before 4WD cars took over the sport. A silhouette racer similar to its predecessor, the Lancia Stratos, the 037 was a mid-engine, tube frame beast with body panels made of Kevlar. The 200 road going versions built for homologation had an Abarth-developed 16-valve four-cylinder 2.0-liter engine with a Volumex supercharger. Power output of the street car was right around 200 hp, although the final evolution of the rally 037 had as much as 325 hp.
