He was grown in a very poor family. He was not the only child in the family, the father worked as an accountant, and this job brought little money. When father got fired, all the children of this family had to work.
Ten year old Jim worked in a supermarket full-time and often slept in class at school. He wasn't very sociable and didn't make friends, most because he already had other concerns.
Early career
But in free time Jim loved to grimace in front of the mirror and even then he amused classmates, relatives, parodied Brezhnev and Jack Nicholson. At the age of 11 he sent 80 of parodies on the show, Carol Barnett, but without result. In 15 years, he became a member of the popular Comedy show "Yuk-Yuk".
But the first performance of Jim failed. Two years Jim spent on rehearsal next performance and, fortunately, it had a big success. The audience fell in love with him, and a lot of directors began to invite him for supporting roles in movies and TV series.
Career
By 1981 he became the main star of several clubs. In 1994, in the career of Jim Carrey there was a fantastic breakthrough: published three successful films with him: "ACE Ventura: Wanted Pets", "Mask" and "Stupid and dumber".
As a result, the actor was nominated for a "Golden globe" and received the award "MTV Movie Award" as the best comedian, but not all critics liked his original style with unusual facial expressions, and Jim was nominated for the anti-award "Golden raspberry" in the category "worst new star".
In 2018, Jim Carrey continues to work on television, participating in the Comedy-drama series "Kidding" ("Jokes") as a leading actor and producer. In last years, he has moved away from the big movie and devoted himself to the old hobby – painting.
