The English language contains many prhasal verbs that express the same meaning as a one-word verb. In general, the prasal verb is used for informal writing and speaking, and the one-word verb is used for more formal language. bring about
Meaning:
- to make something happen, especially to cause changes in a situation.
Example: - social changes that have been brought about by new technology.
carry on
Meanings:
- continue an activity or task
- continue to move in the same direction
Example: - you can carry on with a sport as long as you feel comfortable.
carry out
Meanings:
- spend
- perform, execute
Example: - An assistant arrived, and began to carry out the medical measures.
clear up
Meanings:
- to tidy something up by removing rubbish or other unwanted items
- become clear
- unravel
Examples:
- Yesterday i cleared up my apartament.
- Sherlock Holmes cleared up this murder.
come across
Meaning:
- meet or find by chance
Example: - I came across these old photos recently.
come by
Meanings:
- to call casually and briefly as a visitor
- manage to acquire or obtain (something)
- to visit
Example: - “I’ll come by in the morning,” he mumbled
come out with
Meaning: - to say in a sudden, rude or incautious
Example: - a gentleman should not come out with those remarks
come up with
Meaning: - produce something, especially when pressured or challenged
Example: - he keeps coming up with all kinds of lame excuses
cut down on
Meanings:
- to reduce
- to use or do less of it
Example: - He cut down on coffee and ate a balanced diet
fall through
Meanings:
- fail
- to come to nothing
Example: - the project fell through due to lack of money
figure out
Meaning: - if you figure out a solution to a problem or the reason for something, you succeed in solving it or understanding it.
Example: - Now figure out how many square centimetres there are in a square kilometre.
find out
Meanings:
- to learn by study, observation, or search: discover
- to catch in an offense (such as a crime)
Examples:
- the culprits were soon found out
- we found out a new element. it's appropriate replacement for palladium
give off
Meaning: - to produce something such as heat, light, or a smell
Example: - When they die, plants give off gases such as carbon dioxide and methane.

Вообще, фразовые глаголы используются в неформальном письме и общении, а одиночные глаголы используются в "формальном стиле" языка. Meaning: - быть причиной чего-то, что-то вызвать

Meanings:
- продолжить действие или задачу/дело
- продолжать двигаться в том же направлении

carry out
Meanings:
- проводить
- выполнять , осуществлять, доводить до конца
Example: - An assistant arrived, and began to carry out the medical measures. - Фельдшер прибыл и начал проводить мед. мероприятия.
clear up
Meanings:
- тщательно прибраться
- прояснить
- распутывать
Examples:
- Yesterday i cleared up my apartament. - Вчера я тщательно прибрал свою квартиру.
- Sherlock Holmes cleared up this murder. - Шерлок Холмс раскрыл это убийство.
come across
Meanings:
- наткнуться
-случайно найти, встретить
Example: - I came across these old photos recently. - Недавно я наткнулся на те старые фотографии.
come by
Meanings:
- звонить вскользь и кратко, как посетитель
- удалось приобрести или получить (что-то)
- заглянуть (заходить)
Example: - “I’ll come by in the morning,” he mumbled. - "Я загляну утром", - пробормотал он.
come out with
Meaning: - сказать внезапно, грубо, неосторожно
Example:
- a gentleman should not come out with those remarks - джентльмену не следовало говорить грубо те замечания.
come up with
Meaning: - придумать (в сложной ситуации, под давлением), производить
Example: - он постоянно придумывает всякие дурацкие оправдания.
cut down on
Meanings: - сокращать
Example: - He cut down on coffee and ate a balanced diet. - Он сократил потребление кофе и придерживается сбалансированной диеты.
fall through
Meanings:
- провалить
- ни к чему не прийти
Example: - the project fell through due to lack of money - проект провалился из-за нехватки денег
figure out
Meanings:
- полностью понимать (проблему, т е уметь ее понять и понять как ее решить)
- вычислять
Example: - Now figure out how many square centimetres there are in a square kilometre. - Щас вычислим сколько квадратных сантиметров в одном квадратном километре.
find out
Meanings: - учиться путем изучения, наблюдения или поиска: обнаруживать, открывать
- поймать в преступлении
Examples:

Meaning: - испускать, выделять
