Singapore Airlines was named the "Best Asian Airline" in Russia and the CIS countries by the Business Traveller for the third year in a row. Singapore Airlines already received this Award in 2016 and 2017. The ceremony took place in Moscow on November, 15, 2018.
Business Traveller Awards are given annually for outstanding achievements and innovations in the field of business tourism. In 2018, 37 nominations were presented in 5 categories: "Airlines", "Airports", "Destinations - Business Traveler's Choice", "Hotels", "Arsenal". The winners in each nomination have been determined by the readers of the Business Traveler magazine. Throughout its existence, the annual Business Traveller Awards have gained the reputation of a reputable award, mostly due to its objectivity. The winners are determined by the readers’ votes. The first Business Traveller Awards ceremony took place in 1988. Nowdays the award is held in the UK, the USA, the Asia-Pacific region, Africa and the Middle East, Germany and Poland.
Later in November 2018, in Moscow, Singapore Airlines also was named the “Best Airline” by the Prime Traveller Awards. The Prime Traveller Awards is organised since 2016 jointly by the Prime Traveller magazine about luxurious travel and Prime Concept concierge service. It recognises outstanding achievements and innovations in DMC services, travel and aviation industry. In 2018, the awards were presented in 13 categories: “Opening of the year”, “Best City Russian Hotel”, “Best City Foreign Hotel”, “Best Beach Hotel”, “Best Ski Resort hotel”, “Best Island Hotel”, “Best Leisure Russian Hotel”, “Best Family Hotel”, “Best Romantic Hotel”, “Best Boutique Hotel”, “Best Spa&Wellness Hotel”, “Best Aircompany”, “Destination of the Year”.
There are three winners in each category. The first one is chosen by famous Russian and foreign Prime Traveller columnists. Prime Concept club members decide who is the second winner. Finally, the third winner is selected by the Prime Traveller’s editorial team. Singapore Airlines were named the “Best Aircompany” by the Prime Concept club members. It is a company that provides a full spectrum of premium-class services for trips and events’ organization. The club is exclusive for the representatives of the Russian business and cultural elite, owners and top-managers of leading companies.
In December 2018, Singapore Airlines received one of the highest accolades from Buying Business Travel Awards (BBT), “The Most Customer-Oriented Airline in the Corporate Segment” in Russia & CIS. The award ceremony took place on December 3 in Moscow. The BBT Awards was founded over 20 years ago, and is now one of the most prestigious awards in the travel industry. The awards celebrate the extraordinary achievements of organisations and individuals in Business Travel, and MICE. Nominees were shortlisted from an online poll, and winners, carefully selected by an independent panel of industry experts.
