“The fictional world of my Moomins is a world that every one of us probably longs for in our hearts,” - Tove Marika Jansson wrote about her heroes and being here in Turku give you a possibility to wholly immerse in this world because in Naantali, which is16km from Turku, there is the Moon-world.
Today Moomin-world is one of the best theme parks for children in the whole world. Back then in 2005, The British Independent Newspaper included the Moomin Country in Naantali in the list of the 10 best children's theme parks in the world.
Here you can find everything that is described in a fairy tale, but, of course, the main attraction of the park is the bright blue color round house-tower, which is located in the center of the park. This is the house where the whole big Moomin family lives. Visitors of the park can explore the whole Moomin house on their own. You can walk in all rooms, touch everything, play with everything, in short, do nearly all you want. You can also ask questions fairy-tale heroes, who are always around you, sit with them at the table, sing songs and dance with them.
Apart from all other attractions that create an atmosphere of living in a fairytale, there is also a theatre where you can see performances with fairytale heroes several times a day. There is even a police station and a prison for violators, if you want to voluntarily sit behind bars in a cell, then you're welcome! :)
Even if you didn't read the book, you should come and see this truly fantastic place, because sometimes to feel yourself as a child again is exactly what we need.
