Russian girl in Finnish world

Too expensive to be a woman

I have already had an idea about the prices on the cosmetics and some bathroom accessories (shampoo, micellar water, shavers and so on) here in Finland, so I brought everything I need from my home, and when I saw prices here, I was glad that I decided to do so. Nearly all the cosmetics at stores cost 1,5-2 times more expensive than in Russia, and it applies to everything - from mass market brands to the most expensive ones. I don't understand the reason, because the items that are sold in two countries are the same, then why the same mascara in Russia costs 8 euros and in Finland -14 euros. I tried to find the answer, but didn't find anything clear, only something about taxes, so if you know the exact reason, let me know!

Another interesting thing. While I was studying here in Turku, some girls notices my manicure - I have coloured nails. I was surprised why the gave to such a common thing such an attention because in my country it's a very popular service, a lot of women do manicure. Some girls asked me how much is costs and were shocked when I told them that my manicure cost 21 euros, because the average price for the same procedure here in Finland varies between 45-60 euros. It's too expensive! The same can be applied to other services: cosmetology, having a haircut and so on.

It's horrible that you have to give such a huge sum of money to feel yourself beautiful, so welcome to Russia! The quality of products is the same. With your average salaries our prices would seem to you like they came down from heaven :D
