Watch your mind when working. How to manage?

It’s crucially important to watch your feelings and mind, especially when you’re at work or at school (or when you both at school and at work). If you're an employer – you should mind not only your personal feelings, but your employees’ mental state. When your employees are unhappy – they may perform tasks worse, be uncommunicative and sad. It contradicts the normal work atmosphere, doesn’t it?

As I study Leadership and communications, I’ll speak from the view of an employer. Good business includes the formula PPP&E - people, purpose, planning and execution. As you can see - the word “people” takes the first position in this formula. This means that you have to make your team feel good in all ways. It’s also important to build a good and friendly but working environment. This means that you people in your team should be friendly and communicate well. Here’s a little moment – it’s wonderful when your team communicates at a high level, but if they allow more than they may allow themselves at work (for example, play FIFA with their friends while others are working) – you have to stop this.

It was one side of work-life balance between people, but we’re talking about mental health. Mentally balanced men shouldn’t think about work tasks all of the time (sadly, some employees mostly devote themselves to work). It causes unhappiness and unproductivity (believe me I know what I’m talking about :)).  If they learn how to manage this balance – their mind will be fine.

//good example from my bosses. We have zoom-calls every month with all of our team. Last month he mentioned Headspace (app for meditation). It helped me a lot to manage my thoughts and keep them fine.

As a boss, you have to provide good conditions for your colleagues and employees, for example organise parties, celebrate birthdays, provide a friendly atmosphere at work. Nevertheless, people may have their personal problems connected with family, children, friends, pets and so on. It’s also very good to have a psychologist to help employees feel better if they have troubles over work, but not every company may provide this.

It’s also very good to build friendly relationships between your employees. If they’re in serious trouble - they may not be ready to share this with all team members, but their colleague may hear them and help to find the solution.

Underlining all of my thoughts, I want to say that I totally agree that it’s crucially needed to build a helping and friendly atmosphere in the team. When I have one, I’ll mind my employees' minds carefully!
