93rd Infantry Division was re-formed in the May 15, 1942 (the first time she appeared in the First World War, in 1917) and was a division, which served only blacks. 93rd “black” Infantry Division participated in battles in the Pacific theater of hostilities in 1944-1945. 93 Infantry Division returned to the United States February 1, 1946 and disbanded on February 3 of that year.
While in the US Army there was racial segregation, which, though weakened in the forties, but was canceled only after the Second World War on July 26, 1948, by decree of President Truman.
