Another mysterious monolith, the appearance of which previously puzzled the authorities of the US state of Utah, this time discovered in Eastern Romania, the Daily Mail newspaper writes.
Last week, it was reported that the Utah Department of public safety employees found a structure made of shiny metal two times the height of a man in the desert. A few days later, the monolith disappeared. According to the local Bureau of land management, “an illegally installed structure called a “monolith” has been removed… unknown party.”
The Romanian monolith was erected on a hill near the town of Piatra Neamt, a few meters from the ruins of the Dacian fortress of Petrodava. It was discovered on November 26.
A spokeswoman for the Department of culture and historical heritage said authorities were investigating the “strange appearance” of a monolith about four meters high. “Before installing anything here, we need permission from our organization, which must be approved by the Ministry of culture,” she added.
Unlike the construction in Utah, the monolith in Romania is not a rectangle but a rectangular trapezoid with a beveled top. Also, its surface is covered with “patterns.”
