Hi guys! It's that awesome time of the year when Christmas and New Year are coming. People get the festive mood and spend lots of money and time on buying gifts for their family and beloved ones. But this year has been a little tough so some people may lose the mood or any intention to have fun.
This is why I've created a special selection of movies that might help you get in the mood. I have also added to the links to these movies on Kinopoisk
Home alone
Of course, we all know this movie and it is a sort of symbol of American Christmas nowadays.
The story tells us about a little boy Kevin from a rich family who was accidentally left home alone by his family on the Christmas holidays. At the same time, thieves decided to rob the house while everybody is away. The boy defends his house in all possible ways and causes lots of trouble to the criminals.
My rate: a funny comedy for a good evening - 8/10
Holidate
A new romantic comedy by Netflix that shows us how people feel when their relatives expect them to bring a couple/date on holiday.
The story tells us about a girl and a guy who agreed to be each other's dates on holidays so that they don't feel lonely. They spend many parties together having fun and enjoying themselves. And of course, they fall in love with each other.
My rate: a perfect light comedy to cheer up yourself - 8/10
Klaus
This animated movie should be watched by both children and adults. It shows the importance of simple kindness and that we shouldn't forget how to be human.
The story tells us about a guy from a rich family who was sent to a far small town to be a postman as a punishment. But there is a feud between citizens in this town. He meets an old man who makes toys, they start making toys and delivering them to children who forgot about happiness and kindness. You will see how kindness changes people.
My rate: just awesome, a must-see movie - 10/10
The nightmare before Christmas
An animated movie that shows how some "people" don't want to change themselves.
The story tells us about Jack who found out about Christmas and tried to bring it to his Halloween city but not everything goes as smoothly as he expected.
My rate: it's a good movie that can be watched both on Halloween and Christmas - 7,5/10
How the Grinch stole Christmas
A family movie that also teaches us to be kind to everyone and how it can save the day.
The story tells us about the Grinch who lives in the mountains and who hates Christmas. One day he decided to steal Christmas so that everybody would be unhappy the same as he was. But there was Cindy Lou who changes the situation.
My rate: an awesome movie for the whole family - 9/10.
P.S. The new animated movie "The Grinch" is also very nice.
Fous Christmases
A light comedy to cheer you up and enjoy your evening.
The story tells us about a couple who try to visit their parents on Christmas. But the problem is that their parents are divorced so they to handle 4 Christmases with their families.
My rate: it's a good one - 7/10
Die hard
Although people call it a symbolic Christmas movie, it's not as light and cheerful as the others on this list.
The story tells us about a policeman who is trying to save his wife and other people in the skyscraper who were caught by the terrorists during the Christmas party. Bruce Willis shows us bravery and representa a perfect husband that will do anything to save his wife.
My rate: a cool action movie with a slight touch of Christmas mood - 7,5/10
