But I was never prepared for the hammering Serbia gave to Russia!
The Serbs hosted the Russian national team at the Raiko Mitic stadium in Belgrade on November 18 in the 6th match of UEFA Nations League group stage. The match ended with a score of 5: 0 in favor of the home team.
The rout began in the 10th minute of the derby: Serbia midfielder Nemanja Radonjic scored the first goal. On the 25th minute, the ball flew into the gates of Russia from striker Luka Jovic. Forward Dusan Vlahovic strengthened the hosts' advantage in the 40th minute.
The home team's forward Jovic scored a brace in stoppage time in the first half, and Serbian defender Filip Mladenovic scored the fifth goal in the 64th minute.
As a result, Stanislav Cherchesov's team lost the match, gaining 8 points. Now the Russian national team is in 2nd place in the group 3 league B standings.
